Tokyo Disney Resort 25th Anniversary: "Disney Art Festival"
(February 22, 2008) Tokyo Disney Resort, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, will be hosting the "Disney Art Festival" on the theme of "Unlock Your Dreams" from April 15 through August 31, 2008. This is an umbrella title for a series of art exhibits that showcase the world of Disney, including a Disney film show at Cinema Ikspiari and exhibits at Tokyo Disneyland Park, Tokyo DisneySea Park, the Disney Resort Line monorail, and at the Disney Ambassador Hotel. Some of the exhibits will be continued after the end of the festival period.
Disney Film Selection (Ikspiari)
April 10 - August 31, 2008 (starts before the festival period)
Cinema Ikspiari will have a special showing of ten feature-length Disney animated films and four compilations of animated short subjects. The short animated films are from early works by Disney and will be shown for the first time at a movie theater in Japan. These include Mickey Mouse's debut film Steamboat Willie, as well as the Academy Award winning short animation film Flowers and Trees from the Silly Symphony series. Other works to be shown include Walt Disney's first long animation film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, classics such as Pinocchio and Cinderella, and Aladdin which won an Academy Award for its song "A Whole New World."

Art of a Million Smiles
April 15, 2008 - April 14, 2009
Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will exhibit a gigantic photomosaic titled "Art of a Million Smiles" featuring photos of the smiling guests and cast members at Tokyo Disney Resort. The photomosaics will be exhibited at a total of four locations, in two locations at each Park. Approximately 10,000 photos will be used per artwork to depict Disney characters and Park scenes. Each of the photomosaics at the four locations will be changed four times throughout this anniversary year. The four periods are as follows:
First Period: From April 15
Photomosaics of the Disney characters in 25th anniversary costumes will be created with the smiles of the Tokyo Disney Resort cast members.
Second Period: From July 8
Photomosaics will be created with photos of guests at the Parks taken during the campaign period between January through March.
Third Period: From September 12
Fourth Period: From January 19
During the third and fourth periods, photomosaics will be created with photos of guests from throughout Japan taken during the "Tokyo Disney Resort 25th Anniversary Dream Tour "Unlock Your Dreams" national tour*.
*Note: "Tokyo Disney Resort 25th Anniversary Dream Tour "Unlock Your Dreams" is a nationwide tour by a special Disney vehicle to celebrate the 25th anniversary with guests throughout Japan. This tour will visit 29 cities between April 22 through August 12, 2008.
Dreams Come True: Magical Moments in Disney Animation (Tokyo Disneyland)

An all new exhibit will be offered at The Disney Gallery at Tokyo Disneyland on the occasion of the Tokyo Disney Resort 25th Anniversary. The gallery will display story sketches and figures of characters from Disney animations depicting the magical moments when their dreams come true. For example, guests will see the unforgettable moment when Cinderella transforms into a beautiful princess, or when Dumbo first becomes airborne.
Also at The Disney Gallery, the Disney Drawing Class will add a new course to its existing classes starting April 15. This new course will be longer than the other classes (60 minutes / 1,500 yen per person), in which guests will draw a scene of Mickey navigating a steamboat from his debut film Steamboat Willie. During this course, guests will learn interesting stories related to the film and tips on drawing animations.
Real Places to Magical Spaces (Tokyo DisneySea)
April 15 - August 31, 2008
An exhibit showing how Mediterranean Harbor and American Waterfront was inspired by the culture, tradition, and landscapes of actual places* will be held in an exhibit space next to Gondolier Snacks at Tokyo DisneySea. Guests will be able to see how some of the enchanting landscapes at Tokyo DisneySea are almost exact replicas of lovely places that actually exist in the real world.
*Note: Mediterranean Harbor was inspired by 3 cities and 1 region in Italy, and American Waterfront was inspired by New York and Cape Cod in the United States.
The Disney Monorail Story (Disney Resort Line)
From April 15, 2008
Disney Resort Line will host an exhibit of photos and pictures related to monorails at each of the four stations, each with a different theme. These exhibits will feature not only the monorails at the Disney theme parks, but also monorails from around the world and monorails as envisioned by people in the past.
Resort Gateway Station Exhibit
-Disney Resort Line at Tokyo Disney Resort, as well as monorails at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World in the United States.
-Toys and collectors' items related to the monorails at the Disney theme parks.
Tokyo Disneyland Station
-History behind the monorail at Disneyland Resort in the United States.
Bayside Station
-Introduction of monorails from around the world, such as the world’s first suspended monorail in Germany, and a monorail in Moscow installed with a heating element in the guideways.
Tokyo DisneySea Station
-Monorails of today as envisioned by people in the past, such as those combining the function of a railway train with a design like a rocket.
Walt Disney & Mickey Mouse (Disney Ambassador Hotel)
April 15 - August 31, 2008
The Disney Ambassador Hotel, themed to 1930s America which coincides with the early years of Walt Disney and his animation work with Mickey Mouse, will host an exhibit of Walt and Mickey from this period. The exhibit will feature photos of Walt Disney and early artworks of Mickey Mouse. Also during this exhibit period, all of the hotel guest rooms will have room amenities designed with photos of Walt and early Mickey drawings. Restaurants and lounge will also offer special menus in connection to this program through June 30, 2008.
