Theme Park Music

Hi everyone, here is a website that I haven't mentioned before that has been around a long time but many people may not know about it.

It is called Mouse World Radio and can be found here : http://www.mouseworldradio.com/

So what is Mouse World Radio? Well, basically a bloke thought he liked park music so much, that he'd like to listen to it after he had visited the parks (that is, when he gets home). But there weren't that many CDs available and they were usually limited to just major attractions. He wanted everything, including all the land's background music etc.

So he initially began recording it himself, but then made friends with cast members etc to get copies of the genuine tracks from the source tapes/cds.

The end result is this website that plays Disney park music 24/7 on seven seperate radio channels. It is awesome! There is one free channel that plays Walt Disney World soundtracks (right now, I am listening to the Magic Kingdom monorail spiel)

You have to download the Live365 audio play (which is free) to listen - and you have to pay a fee if you want to listen to the other channels (which apparently has better quality, but the free channel is pretty good anyway.)

Give it a look if you get the chance. Oh yeah, I couldn't get it to work in Firefox, so you might want to use IE6 or 7.

See ya later (oh yeah, and the track I am listening to has just changed to the full Honey I Shrunk the audience soundtrack now...)

For those who use iTunes, under the Pop section in the Radion Stations is a station called Dis Radio. It's supposed to be music from the parks, but also covers movies etc as well. It's not bad and quite a good music soundtrack to be sitting in the background at work. I heard the full soundtrack to Illuminations on here for the first time, and I'm inspired - I want to see it!

Illuminations is one of my favourite Disney Park soundtracks, along with BraviSEAmo from Tokyo Disneysea. The Illuminations show is excellent (and loud) - and is probably Disney's best fireworks show, although the theming is not Disney-related - it is about the planet, so I am in two minds. However it is the perfect fit for Epcot.

I just did a count of my Disney Theme Park albums (not movie soundtracks or other Disney music - just theme parks) and I have...

...59 CDs from every Disney Park :D

Some say (i.e. Della says) I am a little obsessed with it all...

But I say that it is all good :D

I'm with you Keith, you can never have too much music from the parks.

It's been hard, but I am refraining from buying the soundtracks online when I see them, before I get to a park. I've seen a few WDW CD but I'm one who wants to buy it and listen after I've been there. Don't think it would be the same if I was to listen to the music without actually knowing the connection.

You are 100% correct. I get MUCH more enjoyment getting the CDs after seeing/hearing their association. Della and I have discussed this and it is the same for her too. I've ordered some Tokyo soundtracks for shows I never saw, but they just don't have the same appeal, so I've stopped doing that.
