Just in case you didn't hear the news this week - the Luigi's Flying Tires ride at Cars Land is about to close and be replaced by a new attraction. This is the first attraction from the $1 billion rebuild of DCA to close.

Even with 40 extra years of technology since they first tried with the Flying Saucers, they just couldn't get the ride system to work adequately, and it looks like it'll be replaced with a trackless ride system adventure.

You can see some concept art and read more at the Disney Parks Blog here:

Well no surprise really! The most frustrating ride - nothing happens!

I didn't ever ride it... sigh... the line was always too long or it was too hot to stand there for so long or it was down....

Yeah - I found it frustrating too. We did get the vehicle moving and we rode it when the beach balls were still there, but even they didn't give us a lot of pleasure.

Soarin' Over California reopened this week with the new digital projection system. This also saw the new theming for the area - out with Condor Flats, in with Grizzly Peak Airfield. Can't wait to see it in person.

I wonder if the rumored new movie will be far away?

I think this image from Miceage answers that question...it is pretty obvious the "Over California" sign is easily removed as soon as the new movie is ready!
