What Haven't You Done at the Disneyland Resort

Postby KeithS » Fri Oct 23, 2015 8:58 am

We were talking in the Star Wars construction thread about the closure of Big Thunder Ranch. Kevin mentions that he will miss it and I realised that I've never even been in there.

That got me thinking - what else is there in DCA and Disneyland that you haven't done but is freely available (so I'm ruling out Club33 etc here).

In Disneyland, I haven't been to Big Thunder Ranch and I've never done the Canoes around Rivers of America. I've also avoided all the Main Street vehicles except for the horse drawn tram. I'll probably think of other things but I'll let you guys answer next!

Is this going to turn into turn into some sex thing? :D

I really can't think of anything I haven't done or poked my nose into, except for the obvious things no sane person would do, like roller coasters and tea cups.

I forgot about your mortal fear of coasters! Your list will be quite large then :D

There's heaps I haven't done in Disneyland and a couple of things I haven't done in DCA.

The first would be... Splash Mountain ... in any park... and I plan never to do so... Then theres that little story book train thing in Fantasyland, and the Alice in Wonderland ride through ( although, I wanted to do this last time I was there and it was down for refurbishment), and Tom Sawyers Island ( or is it Pirate something ?) - which will also be a 'not going to get to do that ' thing I think because aren't they altering that area for the Star Wars land?

I haven't been on any boats in Rivers of America - I just find them slow and a bit boring.
I also haven't been into Goofy's bounce house because I'm too tall  ... and a grown up
Close your ears Keith - but I haven't been anywhere near the Princess meet n' greet thing either ( Fantasy Fair?).

I've only eaten at one sit down restaurant - Blue Bayou

Does it count if you've ridden the same thing in other parks but haven't bothered in DL because once was enough? ( things in that category would by the Main Street Vehicles, The Paddle steamer, the jelly fish drop)

In DCA, I haven't ridden anything that whirls you around - I would hurl on that orange stinger thing ( or whatever its called now) and the Silly Symphony Swings... and have not and will not be going anywhere near Disney Jr shows... I also haven't ridden much in A Bugs Land - only the Flik's Flyers... although I will do the rest one day. I also haven't ridden (and will try to avoid at all costs ) Grizzley River... I hate getting wet - splashed is ok, but drenched is where I draw the line. Another one I probably won't ever bother with is Goofy's Fly School ( my joints will thanks me ). I also haven't ridden ( and won't get to) Luigi's Flying Tires. And finally I haven't ridden the Red Trolley Car , but definitely will next time I'm there.

You just reminded me of something I haven't done - I've never eaten at the Blue Bayou. I've also never been to the Disney Jr stage in DCA.

I love Splash Mountain and you are really missing out on something special there Lisa! You don't get very wet (not like Grizzly - I can understand why you miss that!).

You've got plenty on your list you can still go back to and enjoy - we love Alice in Wonderland and you will too - sometime the maintenance schedule just works against you!

I haven't been on Peter Pan since our first trip in 2005 - it has either been down, or so busy we didn't want to wait!

The beauty of it all is, I could always find something to fill my time in Disneyland... that's probably why I have stuff still on my list after 3 visits

Club 33. There isn't much else! Except Jedi Academy... they would only take the boys. :(

I'm sure there's other things I'm missing.

When everyone says Club 33 they mean as a guest, right? Not just as part of the tour?

Yeah, I've been in the lobby, but not dined there. One day...

I got to cross Walt's apartment and the Lilly Belle off my list on my last trip :)

I guess I must have done everything, apart from the obvious scary stuff of course. I've even had a haircut.

But, seriously, they have canoes? I've never noticed the canoes. Now I want to go in the canoes.

I've dined at Club 33, but I have not been into Walt's apartment or ridden in the Lilly Belle, I still need to knock those off.
