Congrats Mel!

Our kids have been to Vegas 5 times now (most recently Sept 2011) and there's heaps to do there. Do not let anyone turn you off taking them there. We've taken our youngest there at 7mths but we also took our oldest two kids when they were 3 and 5yrs old. Use the internet to find what you think will hold their attention. Don't pay to see the dolphins/tigers at Mirage - go to MGM, see the lions for FREE. We initially purchased a book on ebay called "We do it all Vegas" with heaps of coupons (well worth it back in 1999) but you can check out the online discounts now. This is where we sorced things to do with kids. Both my husband and I took turns having a gamble whilst the other stayed in the room after the kids went to bed but now our eldest is okay to supervise, we can enjoy some time 'alone' at the casino. When you go to downtown to Fremont St to see the 'dancing light show' be sure to take the 'Duece bus' early. One time we tried to leave the Luxor around 5pm and only got downtown at 6.15pm. With a toddler and a stroller plus the other kids, cameras and lots of other tourists, we were exhausted by the time we arrived and then we had to wait for the show to start...I've got heaps of horror stories and lessons learnt but we've always had heaps of fun (be sure to visit the Adventure Dome at Circus Circus, Rob Thomas bird magician and acrobatic showgirls at Tropicana, Mardi Gra dancers and World Buffet at Rio, Tornament of Kings dinner at Excalibur, M&M world, new Hard Rock Cafe on the strip, riding the monorail, climb the Eiffel Tower at Paris, watch the dancing water fountains at Bellagio - we stayed for an hour! Sirens pirate show at Treasure Island - stay for photos with the pirates even if the show is cancelled, shopping at the Character Warehouse shop on the exterior of the Premium Outlet centre near the airport). so much to do - Enjoy!

Wow - after reading that, I realised how much we missed! I feel like heading back to LV again, it has been 7 years since we were last there.

Thanks for all that info, I feel like I've never even been to Vegas now that I know I've missed so much!!!

We'll likely only have a couple of days in Vegas, and I have no idea how much time will be taken up with wedding stuff, but there sure is plenty to keep us and the kids busy. Once we know what time of year we'll be going - which we likely won't know until the end of this year - I'll have to start doing some serious research.

What I am most looking forward to doing in Vegas in September is the zip line at Freemont St
