Now what do I do?

Postby calisota » Wed Apr 07, 2010 12:14 am

Okay guys, here I am, so close to Disneyland that I can see it (sort of) from my hotel room and it is open from 8am to midnight every day that I am here.

What do I do now. All ideas and suggestions gratefully received, as long as it's not too scary.

Just be gentle with me because the internet connection here is the worst in the world. I even found better ones in the middle of jungles!

Alright then, short and sweet.

EVERYTHING

my thoughts exactly.

Ok.. well, you don't have time to do the whole 'plan it to the enth degree' thing, so I say, what's your favourite ride? do that first!
After that:

Turn.. um... ( tossing coin) turn left.... and...
eat churros
watch fireworks
take photos.
ride more stuff.
High five Donald.
Ignore Mickey.

you know the drill... you're a seasoned Disneyphile these days.

Have fun :)

Did you know that they don't do 7 day passes at the gate? The best they do is 6 days or a season passport. Being here for 7 days I got the 6 day one and spent today doing other things. I went for a long walk (enough to kill a Californian) to a Best Buy and browsed the cheap electronics, eventually buying a new graphics tablet. I also had a long play with an iPad.

Hitting the parks for the first time tomorrow although i have spent some time in Downtown Disney. This place is so different to what it was like the last time I was here, somewhere over 10 years ago. It is amazingly different to how it was the first time I was here in '88.

Greg - do everything!

Of course, there are a few things I know you'll miss - California Screamin, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Tower of Terror. But do everything else.

Try the Matterhorn Bobsleds - it is a coaster, but tame. It might help you get over the coaster fear factor...

DON'T MISS SPLASH MOUNTAIN - Don't be put off by the screams from the big drop - it is a log flume ride and a must see!!

Don't miss Soarin' over California in DCA. Try and take in the Aladdin show in DCA - it closes for good soon and is definitely worth checking out before it has gone.

Ummm...what else - just do as much as you can at each park - tick off the rides as you go so you don't miss anything! Visit Princess Fantasy Faire to get photos with Belle :D

Don't forget Turtle Talk with Crush in the Animation Building in DCA (too many people I know have visited Anaheim and completely miss this!)

And have fun!!!!

Yesterday I did Toy Story Mania (really good) and Indiana Jones (still really good). Plus it was my first time in California Adventures so i just walked around a lot. Then I went to see the Angels play baseball (they lost 2 - 4) and do the whole hotdog at the baseball thing. They were even giving away a beanie to everyone so I got a free souvenir.

So far today i have done the "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" tour (pretty good) and got the exclusive pin for doing it. It included the Jungle Cruise and Tiki Room. Then I did Pirates on my own. Now i am just putting my very sore feet up for a couple of hours before I head back this evening. The place doesn't close until midnight!

Sounds wonderful. I thought the WIWF tour was good too. :)

Don't forget to go on Soarin' in DCA.

Hey Greg - I was just checking out the Spring Break crowds on Miceage, seems like Anaheim is packed at the moment but they say it should be quiet again from Monday.

You'll have to let us know as soon as the walls come down on Paradise Bay viewing area in DCA - it is scheduled for any day now :)

And keep snapping photos - you'll have to do a stack of uploads when you get home for your hungry audience!

I took the camera yesterday and ended up with only a couple of hundred photos.

To be honest, after taking over 10,000 on this trip, I don't really feel the need to take Disney ones. I have 3 more days to go so will probably only end up with 500 odd all up.

Is there anything that anyone would like me to take a photo of?

Some shots of the DCA progress would be good.
