The World of Color

Postby KeithS » Fri Oct 16, 2009 8:43 pm

I'm surprised we didn't actually have a thread on this topic yet!

I cannot wait for the World of Color (unfortunately, I'll have to as I can't see myself getting back to the US for a couple of years!)

Anyway, Disney have released this awesome photo of one of the new water jets in action! Check out how high that is!

They are also plan to begin refilling the lake in the next couple of days - it'll be good to see water again in Paradise Pier.

wow... how weird does that look without the water in it!!!

who knew there was so much stuff going on just under the surface. Well... ok, I knew there had to be some stuff that worked other stuff but when you can't see it, you kind of forget about that aspect.

Cool pic... thats phenominally high.

Ahh, just do it Sandie. You have to stop at LAX on the way home anyway, so why not just make it a stopover. That's the philosophy I'm going with.

They began refilling the Paradise Pier lake this morning! It is already filling nicely. There are some photos over at the Micechat thread:

That's great news, finally. It was running behind schedule, but not so much that it was going to affect the April opening apparently. I am really looking forward to seeing this show eventually. I may need to refrain from watching youtube clips, but they may prove to hard to resist.

Is it going to be similar to the Epcot water show?

Rick,

This show is going to be amazing totally unlike any other Disney show. The water screens at tbe back 400 feet wide and at the front 300 feet wide. It will make the mist screens of Fantasmic look like toys. It will inlcude fire effects firing 60 feet in the air and amazing Disney images projections. It will totally change the crowds in DCA when it opens in April/May 2010.

Thanks Wayne, that sounds great!

The lake at Epcot is so large compared to DCA's so it will appear larger just from the fact you'll be closer to the action. I hope they sell the desert premium seating option for this show.

Having just visited DCA it really this type of attraction. The crowd that moves from DCA back over to DL is HUGE. Given DCA does close alot earlier though. This will give people a choice, fantastmic that night, world of colour this night. Instead of spending 2 days and 1 night, people will stay atleast 2 nights to see fantasmic, world of color, and the fireworks.

All the additions and expansions are exciting. We need to work less and travel more...!!!

I'm getting more excited by this project all the time. For the first time ever, DCA is going to have a unique attraction where no expense has been spared. This is even going to put those spectaculars in Tokyo to shame.

Wendy - I really hope you get to see this. The best guess at the moment is WOC will open around June 11, but there may be previews prior to that.

I agree Keith. This is going to be spectacular. DCA is really going to come to life over the next couple of years, I think the park is deserving of all this attention.
