Interesting Website and a club challenge?

Postby sandie » Sun Nov 09, 2008 12:48 pm

This is a cool blog http://disneyland3d.blogspot.com/2008_0 ... chive.html This guy is creating a computer generated Disneyland using free software called Blender. This link will take you to the oldest entry - you can browse from there.

This gave me an idea. A couple of us already have Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. Why don't we use the blog feature and see who can create the most Disneylike theme park in the next twelve months? Maybe we can present our final renditions at the last meeting of next year. We can add screenshots to our blogs and see what each of us is doing.

Any takers? (And no Keith - I am not a geek!!!!)

Unfortunately I don't have time for Rollercoaster Tycoon - and I don't even know if the one I got is '3' Sounds fun though, I hope you have some takers :)

Someone looking for a geek? 8)

I have Roller Coaster Tycoon but I just haven't had time to play with it yet. It's an interesting idea though.

I have started my entrance way and I am halfway through the entry train station. If Keith would once again post instructions on how to post photos I will put up a screen shot

I've never played with RC Tycoon - I've picked it up a few times when I've been at a computer store, but have never taken it to the counter to purchase.

It did download a proper rollercoaster simulator though. It isn't that fun, but it is really interesting to look at track layouts for rides such a Rockin' Roller Coaster (I'm glad it is an indoor ride, because I probably would never have gotten on it otherwise!)

Sandie, to post pictures, first upload them to your Flickr page. Once they are there, I'll explain the next bit (or send me the link to your Flickr page again and I'll help you out from there).

So after about 12 hours i have the Railroad, the entrance station (that one took 4 hours alone) most of Main Street - no Castle yet and the Jungle Cruise. An added bonus I have discovered is that I can ride my attractions. The on ride cams actually show my rides and theming so when it is finished I can bring it to the meeting and you can all experience teh joy with me!!!!!!
