I've just been sorting out and archiving my digital photo collection (a bit scared to start digitising the older ones) and found out that I have 3200 from my one trip to WDW.

Where does that rank me among everyone?

I'm impressed :) I only took 1,663 on my last trip (6 days) and my friends think I take too many - what do they know!

With all the character line ups I did miss some of the parks and didn't get to the resorts so ..... next time.  I hope I don't take over 3000 though as I don't take mine in JPEG so I have to process any I want to use.

I was there for 10 days so it's only 320 a day I guess. I had a brand new digital SLR and was taking them in RAW and transferring them onto a portable hard drive each night. This was back in 2007 so still relatively new technology.

We've done 3,000+ photo trips before.  I can't remember what our record is but it is pretty high!

So what does everyone do when you come home with thousands of photos. The days of putting photos in albums have long gone. Digital photoframes?

No - I just have them stored on a number of computers.  From time to time we'll get a small number printed for an album - we did some nice albums from our first ever cruise in 2013, but haven't done any more since.

I have, in the past, had all my photos scrolling through on my TV, intending it to just run in the background while I do other things, but I usually found myself just siting down and wasting time by looking at them. :-)

I also have them on my PC desktop at home on a random rotation - you just never know what you are going to see on there when you log on :)

Just make sure that here aren't any random ones mixed in that you don't want to display to the general public...trust me. :-)

ok... well, I'm a little embarrassed to admit this but my last trip (Universal/WDW/cruise) I came home with over 9000.  All RAW files, which, when I've edited them, I save as both a TIFF and jPEG.  I will only edit the ones I intend to use though.
My current issue - which I've stepped away from until after the Christmas/NY crazy time - is that they are ALL saved on external harddrives which for some unknown reason, Lightroom will not import so that I can edit them.  I've spent over a month trying to make it play nice but it wont so far.  It will still import from SD cards - which I empty every time I go out, so thats not overly helpful.

As to the 'what to do with them'... Ultimately, I took them to be able to scrapbook, so a lot of the photos are multiples of the same thing or details from different angles or different settings so I can choose what look I'm after from a selection.  Its not unheard of for me to take 10 or more photos of the same thing for that purpose.  I also use them to try and build up my Instagram account, and also for my blog which is sadly still languishing in the pre-launch mode ( but now that I've actually paid for the .com last week, I suppose I better get to and use it, but need to spend some time trying to figure out Wordpress )
I'm also going to make a photo book ( think snapfish) for a large selection of the shots that won't make it into a scrapbook.

OK, 9000 is impressive.   Just imagine how many rolls of film that would have been back in the day.

Gee 9000 that'll keep you busy!  Great to hear so many shoot in RAW and I'm not the only one processing loads of photos.  I use PhotoShop, but use the Canon software to download and don't have issues opening anything in PhotoShop when I need it.  I also take some shots to hopefully use as a background.

Keith - I'm with Greg, watch what photos you have on there.  A friend did similar and I'm not sure if she or I were more embarrassed.

LOL - no, my holiday photo directories are all pretty tame! I still think I need to set up a background image folder though because I get too many lame ones...

yep, thats horrific to contemplate.... my first Disney trip back in the day was with a film camera and I took a whole two rolls of film... kinda regret that now... wish I'd taken dozens more.
