Down Under Disneyana Australian Disney Forum

I don't know if you folks saw this yesterday, but Target Australia announced they were going to stop selling toys.

This is interesting for us, as they had exclusive deals with Disney to sell certain toy ranges here, including exclusive rights to Tsum Tsums.

I guess we should have seen this coming with Target cancelling their annual toy sale this year.  From now on, Target are going to focus on fashion and home wares only.

Target is owned by Westfarmers who also own Kmart, so I'm hoping that the exclusive merchandise will just transfer over to Kmart (although there is no Kmart where Della and I currently shop - nuts!).

I guess it makes sense for Target to specialise. At least on the Gold Coast,  from  memory, there was a lot more Kmarts than Targets. 

Silly questions and one I may have asked before, but what are tsum tsums?

Yes, I heard this and was really surprised. We buy quite a few toys from Target. Recently bought some Jake and the Neverland pirates Duplo on sale and we've purchased Disney little people sets. It'll be interesting to see how they go with their make over.

I totally agree that Kmart will likely take over the Disney toys. I'm not sure if anyone subscribes to the Disney Australia newsletter, but I got one today that said Kmart are the exclusive store to sell the Disney edition of Family Feud board game. We bought it today and the shelves were looking a little light on if you were planning on getting one.

Thanks for the heads up on Disney Family Feud Rebecca - we managed to get a copy from Kmart in Hurstville (there were still a few copies of it there).

We recently bought the Disney Headbanz game too from Target on sale for $20.

The Disney themed episode of Family Feud will now air this Sunday, 17 July - it looks like it was pushed back a week but now coincides with the anniversary of Disneyland!
