Owning a bit of Disney

Postby calisota » Tue May 17, 2016 3:08 pm

I guess this comes under memorabilia.

Does anyone own any Disney shares? I always thought about buying (probably only one or two) shares in the Disney Company just so I could say I was a part owner.

Della and I have them - we bought them through Oneshare years ago when you could buy a single share to get the nice share certificate.  When we bought them, they were only $13 each!  We also got a single Pixar share each, so when Disney took over Pixar, we suddenly got a bunch more Disney shares!

We get dividend cheques ever so often, but we can't do anything with them as they are only a few dollars each.

Holy lost early retirement opportunities, Batman!!
The dividend cheques would be a bit of a memorabilia thing as well.

Ahhh - the world is full of them.  I could have bought bitcoin at $3-00 a pop too not long ago...
The dividend cheques all go in the bin :) Not worth the paper they are printed on - just standard paper cheques (they do have the Walt Disney Company name on them)

I bought Brad a share a few Christmas' ago. Mostly for the gorgeous certificate it came with. It's sad they don't do it anymore. I wish I had got one for myself. We chuck out the cheques too lol
