Disneystore.com.au?

I got an interesting email the other day. It was a survey from Disney Movie Rewards and it looks like they are thinking of expanding the program. There were questions about other 'loyalty' programs and a question or two about what I'd like to see introduced in the way of earning rewards - including the purchase of theme park tickets among other things. The most interesting part of the survey for me though, was the one that asked what I would like to see offered if there was to be a disneystore.com.au. I hope this is an indication of something already in the works!

BTW, I think anybody can take the survey at disneymovierewards.com.au under 'promotions', if you want to take a look. It only took me about 10 minutes to complete.

Yes, I got this yesterday too and was interested by those questions about an online Australian Disney Store.

Bring it on I say!

So long as they don't dumb it down for the "Australian audience". We'd still like to see everything they offer on the .com site.

I agree. In the survey, they asked for the top four things you'd like to buy from a list. I selected Art and Collectibles, Clothing, and two others (I can't remember what) - but I kept away from toys and movies because we can get them in JB Hifi or Target anyway - so I selected the stuff we can't get here. I'd hate to see an Australian Online Disney Store become an outlet for Fisher-Price Princess and Cars merchandise.

Everyone should click through and do the survey!

Well it looks like Disney have begun selling stuff direct via the internet in Australia with their own store on the Movies Plus website:

http://disneyzone.moviesplus.com.au/

Whilst Movies Plus is not owned by Disney, the Disney Zone is an official Disney offshoot on the Movies Plus website.

Did anyone else get the email from Disney Movie Rewards recently that said that the program will be ending soon and will be replaced with something new?

I've noticed that the most recent Disney Blurays that I've purchased (Wreck it Ralph, Frankenweenie, Aladdin) have all been missing the Disney Movie Reward code sheets.

When I got my email about the closure, they said that because I had such a large balance (I've never redeemed any points) that there were some special rewards not on the website and that I'd have to ring them up to find out what they are. I haven't done that yet, but I was wondering if anyone else had?

Has anyone been able to log in to their Disney Movie Rewards account? I'm trying to log on to redeem my points, but it keeps saying the service is unavailable. It closes on 30 September and I want to use those points before it finishes but cannot log in :(

Does anyone actually buy anything from the "Australian Disney Store" at http://shopmydisney.com.au/ ? It says that it's operated by Elan Media Partners who have one of the most uninformative websites ever... http://www.elanmediapartners.com/

The reason I'm asking is that I have just applied to be an affiliate of the US (proper) Disney Store and if I'm approved I'll be posting about interesting things you may want to buy by clicking on my links. It won't add anything to the cost for you but might get me a dollar or two.

No - I have to admit that I haven't purchased anything from them. If they ended up supplying genuine Disney Store items, then I would be tempted!
