Not quite on the scale of Anthony's map (by the way did it make it home with you last Saturday - I saw Keith look calculatingly between the exit door and the map) but I was given a lovely Mickey Mouse lamp yesterday. I don't think it is terribly old but something unique none the less. I like it when friends have clean outs!

I've now got a similar story to Anthony's 1958 map find!

As you may or may not know, Della works for an accounting firm as a bookkeeping consultant specialising in MYOB software. She is listed as a consultant on the MYOB website and often gets cold-calls for assistance from businesses.

A couple of weeks ago, a customer requested help with their bookkeeping and she went out to their location and during the course of a long day of sitting with them, she passed the time talking about holidays, Disney etc. The lady at the business said she went to Disney a lot when she was a kid because her father lived parttime in Southern California as he was a famous Australian power-boat racer.

Anyway, a couple of weeks passed and the lady rang Della up to say she was doing a pre-Christmas cleanup at the house and had found a Disneyland park map. She was going to throw it out, but remembered Della was a keen Disney fan and wondered if she'd want it. Della of course said YES PLEASE!

When we finally got it - it turned out to be the 1961 park map - similar to Anthony's! It is in great condition too - just a couple of tears where it was folded.

More info about the 1961 edition can be found here:

We are very grateful to the previous owner of this map for keeping it for so long and passing it on to us!

When we finally got it
Where does the "we" come from? Seems to me Della has herself a 1961 map!

I guess it's only fair, whenever Keith wins a raffle prize at club nights Della always gets first dibs.

"We" are a team :)

But Della is keeping it at her place while we decide how best to preserve it.

Finally had the map framed after 9 years!  I’d post a picture, but I can’t so I might message it to Keith to Greg to add if that’s ok.  Turned out reallly well.  We bought another one in 2006 as well, and also had that framed.

WOW!  Liberty Square, Edison Square, Holiday Land?  If only I could go back in time and visit this park to truly compare!  Thanks for sharing.
