Disney Yearbook 2005

Postby KeithS » Mon May 01, 2006 7:38 pm

Now here is an awesome idea. Disney is producing an annual yearbook beginning with 2005.

Here is the official website:

http://disney.go.com/inside/yearbook/

Now - the bad news - it is only being shipped to addresses in the US and Canada - no overseas shipments :(

Now - how are we going to get these out here?? I hope that Disney change their minds and that public opinion forces their hand! I want a copy!! Though, no doubt they will begin appearing on eBay soon!)

Nice book! And a reasonable price as well.

It would probably be possible to get a box at some place like Mail Boxes Etc and then have them forward it on but I can only imagine what it would cost.

Surely they will be selling it in the parks and not just by mail order? Those not going on the Parks trip may be able to put in orders with those that are.

We discussed this after yesterday's club meeting and a few people have got their feelers out trying to secure some copies. We just have to wait and see how this all pans out, as it is not just us that are disadvantaged - the European Disney fan community have been left out as well.

Strange that they are denying that huge market.

I can remember having an argument with a woman in a Disney Store when i was lamenting the lack of Donald merchandise. She told me that it was because no one was interested in the duck and even after I started quoting figures regarding duck popularity in Europe she still dismissed them as unimportant. Americans do seem to be very USA-centric.

Talking about "The Duck" (and completely off topic!) I got an emailed birthday card from Donald today! It was my birthday on Sunday, and when I looked in my email this evening, there was an e-card from Disney Online Guest Services, signed by Donald (with his picture of course). Part of the message read "And the only thing better than YOUR birthday is MY birthday!" which sounded just like Donald!

So, a nice touch from Disney. :)

Well, here is the thing - I'm not exactly sure how I got it!

I don't know if it came as a result of signing up for Virtual Magic Kingdom all those months ago, or whether it was Buzz Lightyear Online, or Disney.com.au membership, or Hong Kong Disney Reservation Centre?!? One of those must have been the cause!

If you like, I can forward it to your email so you can see the whole thing.

I've signed up for a few of those but my birthday isn't for a while so I can only hope.

I would be interested in seeing what you got if you could forward it, thanks Keith.

Got it. It's cute and now I'm looking forward to my birthday, which is not something I normally do considering the whole getting older thing.

Hi all,

I've just joined the forum so you'll probably see a few posts from me in the next few days.

Just thought I'd let you know that I have a copy of the Disney 2005 Yearbook coming to me this week hopefully (sent via my parents in Canada) so if I can make it to the Pirates event, I'll bring it along!

But will you be able to take it home again?!

Just kidding, we are a friendly bunch :D and I for one cannot wait to take a look. I wonder if your parents would mind shipping another 20-30 copies each year :) (just kidding again!)
