The Pirates update was a bit strange - it feels like a stop-gap while they wait for something bigger.  They have a level cap of Level 6 - instead of 10 for all the others.  I can only guess that once the Halloween event finishes, the Pirates story (and levelling) will recommence and hopefully they will open up the portal to the west where you can see a pirate ship parked in the cursed lands.

Didn't know about the level 6 cap, I've got Will to level 4 but don't want to upgrade him again and waste the hard earned flags I've been collecting for Elizabeth.

That Prate land looks very intriguing, can't wait to get in there. I also think that they've done a good job with the Pirates characters, the movements they have are really good, especially Jack's.

So the Halloween things has now kicked off.  Looks like fun.  I like how you can now get costumes for the fab-five characters too.

Yep, looks like an interesting update, I'm not sure if I've seen A Nightmare Before Christmas, or it was a long time ago, so I'm not really familiar with the characters.

The costumes should be interesting and give those characters something else to do now that I've got them levelled all the way up.

Keith, how do you know about these character level caps?

I've gotten my Pirates characters to Level 6 and they all say Max Level when you go into them now.  All my other characters got to Level 10 before they said max level.

You're doing so much better than me. I have Will at 5, Elizabeth at 2 and don't even have Jack yet.

Working on Jack Skellington now.  I've unlocked Zurg and the Sleeping Beauty fairies but haven't started the Phillip or Aurora missions yet - I think I need to unlock the It's a Small World area, but that is hard to do with this halloween thing happening, I'm not gaining as much magic now as we are playing for pumpkins instead...

Do you think it seems to react a bit slower after the Halloween update? There just seems to be a bit more of a delay after you tap something.

I did enjoy tapping those crows, they made a very satisfying noise when they exploded.

Two things I've noticed about the performance since the update:
1 - yes, it is a little slower moving to the character when you tap it.
2 - but on the other hand, I'm finding that it is scrolling a lot smoother and I'm not getting as many jerky animations now.

So I imagine they've tweaked some things for performance, but it has slowed down the jumping to new characters.  I'm betting the performance issues are delaying the opening up of new lands.

I've got Jack Skellington - he looks pretty cool in the game.  I've had to park my welcoming of Donald and the Sleeping Beauty characters to concentrate on Halloween - I'll get back to them after the event (I don't want to fall short like in the Incredibles event where I failed to get Syndrome unlocked!)

Yes - the crows did make a satisfying squawk when hit :)

I'm still a long way off Jack Skellington and I never got Syndrome either.

Donald is a hard one to get, and even harder to upgrade, each piece you need (and you need a lot for each level) seems to take 12 hours. It's also frustrating when, after 12 hours, they don't give you the piece anyway!

At the moment I'm missing...

Pluto
Rex
Jack Sparrow
Boo
Maximus
Merryweather
Frozone
Syndrome

Basically all the ones I would have to buy rather than earn.

I'm loving the Halloween update.  I have Jack and Zero, both up to Level 3 or 4.  I've also got enough stuff to open Daisy's costume, but I stupidly put her on a long job this morning so now have to wait until tonight to open her costume.

I'm still missing:
Jack Sparrow
Wall-e
Maximus
Merryweather
Syndrome

and the two Nightmare characters that haven't opened yet; Sally and Oogie

I've opened up a couple of new bits of land up next to Space Mountain too.  I think I need to rearrange my whole kingdom though I have things just shoved anywhere and everywhere at the moment.

Yep, I'm constantly rearranging things to try and keep appropriate things with appropriate things. The Pirates stuff just doesn't seem to fit in at the moment and i have them all over the place.

I've pretty much completely run out of room - and it wasn't helped by pulling out the Tower of Terror from a chest yesterday - that's a big building to plonk down.

There is no rhyme or reason to my building placement at the moment - I'm trying to welcome Aurora so I can do the quests that open up the expansion pad in front of It's a Small World.  If I can't do that quickly, I'm going to have to reduce my burger-farm to fit in some of the buildings required for the Halloween event.

I'm really enjoying the Halloween thing too - I just hope I graft enough to get Oogie Boogie before it finishes...

Heyya - how is everyone's progress on the Halloween event going?

I've unlocked Sally and I'm now in the process of building the graveyard.  I've read there are lots of tasks to do to fight Oogie - lots of spiders to defeat, so I hope to get cracking on that on the weekend.  Spider tasks are no good when I'm at work - just can't stop every half hour to squash them all!

I'm squashing those particularly nasty looking spider things right now. I haven't gotten Sally yet though.
