Are there a certain number of snowgies or is it time based? I'm trying to balance leveling up with catching them.

Snowgies are ongoing throughout the life of the event, so you shouldn't have any trouble continuously locating them.

Excellent. It also means I don't have to concentrate on completing them to the detriment of other things.

You have to strike a balance between catching snowgies and levelling up characters.  It is quite a clever mechanic to slow down your progress.
I'm building Oaken's Trading Post at the moment, that should be finished by this evening.

Everyone else seems so much further along than me :-(

I did discover that, especially with the Frozen stuff, you need to be online for a lot of items to show up, which is an issue for me at the moment.

I've had the last two days off so I've had a lot of time to check in on the game.  I'm now waiting for Elsa to open up.  While I wait I'm trying to level up my characters as much as I can.  I have Sven on 5, Olaf and Anna on 7,  and I'm just about to level Kristoff up to Level 4.  I'm hoping that this will make it easier when Elsa's ready :)

Greg - I had the same problem with Frozen and Nightmare events - you needed to be connected during the welcoming period for the items to drop.  Once you had the characters, you could be offline.  I had to set up a wireless hotspot with my mobile phone so I could connect the iPad while at work (I don't have a sim for my iPad).

Mel - your progress with levelling characters is great!  I can only check in from time to time, so it takes me a while to gather the ropes and bags for the snowgies.

So the Frozen promotion is over. I managed to get all the characters except for Hans. I didn't get to see any of the Big Boss Battle so I don't know what was involved in that.

I managed to get Hans in the last hour of the event!  It was a close run thing and in the end I had to use gems to buy the last two items for him because I couldn't get them to drop.  Luckily though that allowed him to be welcomed instantly without the hour cooking time.

The final battle was Hans vs. all the other characters.  Hans had a crossbow while the others just threw snowballs and other items.

Back to normal now, so I'm levelling up characters again in an attempt to get as many to level 10 before the next event comes down the pipeline...

I would have liked to see a crossbow vs snowball battle, I know what i would prefer to have myself.

Strange question but has anyone figured out the significance of the two different shaped "speech balloons" that come up above characters and locations?

Some are square and some are rounder. I thought one shape may signify that you are getting an item but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Just curious.

I've asked myself the same question about the balloons and haven't figured it out either!

I managed to get Syndrome this week.  I purchased one of those new chests with my last remaining gems, and he came out of it! Yay!

Now I'm just working on levelling up Gothel, Donald, and the Frozen characters until the next event comes along.

I have about 600 gems but in true Scrooge fashion I'm hesitant to use them.

I'm starting to lose interest in this game. It's getting a bit monotonous, especially now that I've run out of space to put any new attractions and the gameplay is the same all the time. I also have so many "hanging lamps" that i could populate a section of the park with a forest of them.
