We ALL wanted to speak about this film, but out of respect to those who hadn't yet seen it (errr...I guess that meant you Lisa
) we've been hanging off until we got your permission!!
Ok... permission granted
I stand by my earlier statement....
C'est Magnifique... N'est pas?
I LOVED THIS MOVIE.
and I'll take you back to one the earliest discussions we had here....
Ratatouille? What do you reckon came first, idea and then the clever title or the title and "you know that sounds like a movie about a rat". Greg
This is what I thought of when I saw the name of Linguini's restaurant at the end ( not that it surprised me one bit).
This movie was full of clever 'play on words' moments Very Pixar and very impressive in its delivery. Very grown up. And yep, we've discussed that I do believe Keith.
Having said that, both my kids loved it - but then they are older I guess. The cinema was full of little kids and their grandmas - and my daughter assured me that I was the only adult giggling all the way through ( much to her disgust
)
And OMG the animation was just awesome. I can't remember a better animated movie. When Remy was washed down into the bowels of Paris I was just blown away at the way it was done. And I could almost smell the frazzled fur when he and his brother got zapped by the lightning in his attempt at what turned out to be souffle au champignon.
Actually, I couldn't possibly say all the bits of this movie that I loved. It was one of my all time favourites already. I want to go to Paris all over again now.
The scenes around Paris were amazing and the architecture was just brilliantly reproduced.
This is one that I will be going to see again.Particularly seeing as I missed the short at the start....
it had it all.... Paris, French cuisine , rapier wit and moped chases.... what more could you ask for?
Oh... and I picked Linguini's parentage as soon as the letter was waving around in his hand at the start.
