Change of plans... I wasn't able to go Thursday night so I went to see Terabithia this afternoon.
For starters, I had the smallest cinema I have ever seen ( 4 rows of seats) but thankfully the usual sized screen. and the
entire thing to myself... ( not counting the attendant)
What an amazing movie.
I went to the movie, not having read so much as one proper review or the book for that matter, so I had no preconceived ideas ( other than someone dying) and I was blown away by this tale.
And yes, I cried... so much in fact that I dislodged a contact lens and had to watch the last 15 minutes with one eye when I was unable to rectify it in the dark...
Having someone important just disappear is devastating.
This ode to the vivid imagination was a real treat. And Terabithia seemed so familiar to me in a way....
"Close your eyes and keep your mind wide open" possibly the best line in the movie is almost exactly what I told someone recently....
And now I have to see if I can find that soundtrack somewhere.....
If you haven't seen it yet, go see it.... and take your imagination with you.
( and possibly some tissues)
