Chicken Little in Disney 3D

Postby KeithS » Wed Dec 21, 2005 8:56 pm

Okay folks - here is some big news.

As you would all know by now, Chicken Little is being released in Australia on January 1, 2006.

The big news however, is that selected cinemas will be playing it in the new Disney Digital 3D format! Yay!

That's right, this is the latest in 3D technology, and we'll get to see it :)

So, if you are interested and live near any of these cinemas...
NSW - Megaplex Castle Hill
QLD - Megaplex Chermside
SA - Megaplex Marion
WA - Megaplex Innaloo

...go grab your tickets (they cost an extra $2.00) and get ready for some new technology - possibly the future for Disney CG films...

Hey everyone, well I've just come back from a 3D session of Chicken Little. Now here is a movie that surprised me - I went into the theatre with little expectation given the average reviews I've read over the last couple of months, and yet, I thought the movie was pretty good :)

Not Beauty and the Beast good - but more entertaining than something like Home on the Range.

I suppose the Disney Digital 3D helped a bit too - in my opinion, this is the future for 3D animated films.

This is the second digitally projected movie I've seen (I saw Finding Nemo at Fox Studios two years ago, in 2D obviously) and I can't wait for all cinemas to be fitted with this equipment as the picture is so clear - no film grain, no reel-change marks on the print, no colour changes between reels etc.

If it is showing in 3D in your area, do yourself a favour and check it out.

Wow - can you believe that was eight years ago and 3D movies and digital projection was the new thing to look forward too?

Poor Chicken Little - it didn't really go down in history as one of Disney's better films did it?

I would say it was probably the studios worst. At a time when Pixar was king. It think the tides have turned now with Disney Animation ahead of Pixar

with Disney Animation ahead of Pixar
I couldn't agree more!

Movies like Tangled, Wreck-it-Ralph and Frozen versus movies like Cars2, Brave and Monsters University - I also think Disney Animation are now a step ahead of Pixar.

All three of those Pixar movies aren't bad - in fact they are good and better than most films from other studios - but the Disney ones listed here are all great films.

Yes - Chicken Little was a creative low-point, but I still think Home on the Range was the worst!

Home on the Range
This is the only Disney animated movie from the modern era that I don't own. I only saw it once at the cinema so I should probably watch it again at some point.
