Finding Dory

Postby mushu mama » Thu Aug 18, 2016 12:04 pm

I couldn't find a thread for this so if there's one way back sorry... just starting a new one.
Are we talking about this yet?
Who went to see it?  what did you think?

I went with my nephews ( which was an altogether different experience than on my own or with other adults "I'm hungry" "I need to go to the loo" "Aunty Lis, can I eat your gummy bears"  and my sister talking ALL the way through)
I wasn't expecting too much, and I did still think it was a little too like finding dory premise, but I ended up loving the new characters and of course, the animation was a cut above.  Hank was a stand out for me, his animation was mind bloggling, and little Dory was cute.
I will likely add it to my collection at some point, and I'd like to watch it again to see what I missed the first time ( there's always something)

We still haven't seen it - we haven't been to the movies since Star Wars back in December.  Looks like we'll have to wait for the DVD later this year :)

I've seen it, but not at the movies so I can comment more on the story than the way it looked.

It's okay, I was surprised that it did as big a business as it did. I found the story to be really similar to Finding Nemo in the same way that the new Star Wars is is similar to the original. Just little things that made me go "oh, that's really close to Nemo" and it would take me out of it momentarily.

Over all I enjoyed it but it's not in my top 5 Pixar movies.

yes exactly that ... on both points... liked it, but doesn't get all 5 stars.
