Doesn't she look a bit like she could be "someone's" Mother?

Genius - I never even thought about that!  If she's a criminal, it might explain why she left that someone behind...

When Della and I were watching it, Della commented that the trailer confused her because she initially thought it was that someone! I had to explain it was another person altogether and also explain when this movie takes place.

But does it work in terms of age and timeline?

Seeing this trailer has me just so excited about the endless possibilities that the Star Wars franchise will deliver in the hands of Disney. I can see a parallel Disney universe along the same lines that they have done with Avengers etc.
2023 Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines - Disney Wish. Going to be awesome to be back!

Bingo - I think this is exactly what they are aiming to achieve.  It is a great model for sustained story development and is fan-friendly at the same time (as long as they maintain story quality!)
As for yesterday's discussion about Rey being the daughter of the girl in Rogue One - Daisy Ridley spoke about that yesterday and said that is not the case - the casting and look of the new character was pure coincidence.

I read that too, but was interested to see that she only said 'just because she has the same colour hair and she's white didn't automatically make her Rey's mother'.... note the absence of the words 'no she is not my mother'.  Classic diversionary tactics...And then there's the shared British accent.... I'd still go out on a limb and say it is her mother... but I guess time will tell.  :)
