Funny thing is - that Cars forum thread was just our 90th topic on here - whereas our Cars 2 thread is number 1926 - so we have been busy posting these last four and a half years!

LOL... just re read the whole cars thread... what a hoot... The whole explanation of the buzzard phenomenon... it was more chatty than we are today... are we all just too busy do you suppose?

I've got the opening day for the film down as June 23 in Australia but that may still move around a little bit.

FROSTY VOICES RACE CAR IN NEW CARS 2 MOVIE

Ford Performance Racing’s (FPR) Mark Winterbottom has voiced a character for the upcoming Disney.Pixar’s Cars 2 animated movie which opens in Australian cinemas on 23 June.

Australian audiences will get to see and hear Winterbottom’s ‘Frosty’ character which will be decked out in Australian colours and marks the first time in Australia that a sporting hero has been given a voice role in such a prominent movie.

The story of Cars 2 sees Lighting McQueen invited to compete in the World Grand Prix to race against the fastest cars in the world in three fantastic locations – Japan, Italy and the United Kingdom.

It is at the launch party event for the World Grand Prix that ‘Frosty’ will meet up with Lighting McQueen as the Australian representative for the big race.

"It was an awesome opportunity that comes along once in a lifetime and seeing the character on the big screen for the first time will be an amazing feeling,” Winterbottom said.

“I’m a huge fan of the original Cars, it is a movie I’ve watched countless times and I just can't wait for Cars 2.”

The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand’s managing director, John Cracknell said the company was looking forward to Winterbottom providing a local presence in Cars 2.

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to showcase a local racing legend like Mark Winterbottom in Cars 2, which will really bring the story to life for Australian audiences”, Cracknell said.

“Cars 2 will be this summer’s most highly anticipated family film, and we are looking forward to continuing the great Disney-Pixar storytelling with a distinctly Australian accent”.

Cars 2 marks Disney.Pixar’s 12th feature-length animated film and will be released as Pixar Animation Studios celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Australia’s latest big time movie star is fresh from his podium finish yesterday in the Clipsal 500 and is already preparing for this weekend’s Australian Grand Formula One Prix in Melbourne where he and the rest of the V8 Supercar field will be the main support.

We're taking the boys during the school holidays. It will be their first movie at the cinema

We are going next weekend.

The critics hate it - a first for a Pixar movie - but the public seem to love it based on the box office numbers coming in this morning.
