Disney 3D Digital

Postby sandie » Sat Oct 28, 2006 10:33 pm

My daughter and I just got back from seeing Monster House 3D and saw previews for the Robinsons 3D and Nightmare Before Christmas 3D - Anyone else seen the previews? They looked awesome and seemed much clearer than the 3D animation in Monster House.

Not yet, but we did see Chicken Little in Disney Digital 3D back in January, and it was amazing - it actually made the movie quite enjoyable ;)

Della and I are heading to the City next weekend to catch Nightmare - can't wait (can you believe it - Della has never seen Nightmare - but it very intrigued after experiencing Haunted Mansion Holiday in Disneyland this year.)

It is a pretty cool film, yet I've only watched it once

So I am really looking forward to it on Saturday!

Oh yeah, the soundtrack is awesome. Danny Elfman - how cool is that guy! I used to be a big fan of Oingo Boingo (remember them?!)

Of course I remember them- We Close Our Eyes is one of my favourite songs!

They come a close second to the Cure.

So, have you gone and seen the 3D version of the movie yet??

Get out there people! This is awesome.

You also get a 3D trailer for next year's "Meet the Robinsons" and you see the awesome new Walt Disney Picture's logo, also in 3D. (Speaking of Meet the Robinsons - there is a new full length trailer over at the Apple Quicktime website - I'll bring it along to our next club meeting on November 25th.)

And as for the movie - well let's just say that the process for converting a 2D movie into a 3D movie is MUCH better than what I expected - I now have a lot more faith in the process (especially as they are rumoured to be converting the original Star Wars films using the same process). And this movie works well with 3D - there is no cheap-shot throwing of stuff at the audience that has always annoyed me in the past. Nope - this is a great experience, go see it :D

Yep, we saw it about the same time as you Keith. We were hoping to see Monster House 3D, but I think it's finished now.

$17/ticket though - would hate to take a whole family!

Took the kids to see it last Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is my first time seeing Nightmare which I wish I had done before see Haunted Mansion Holiday, but it now all makes sense. Also looking forward to the Robinsons as well. I think the new 3D experience adds depth and clarity to movies, which is fantastic.
2023 Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines - Disney Wish. Going to be awesome to be back!

I love the Haunted Mansion Holiday!!!!! One day I am going to get my butt in gear and copy some of those decorations for my house - this year though I will have to be content with my JackSkellington funeral wreath hanging on my front door!

How cool is it!! It is awesome - I love the whole Haunted Mansion/Phantom Manor setup - one of Disney's best attractions.

I didn't think I'd like Haunted Mansion Holiday (thought it would be a cheap overlay...) but boy, was I wrong. And like AJP above, Della saw the overlay before she saw the film - and she still loved it. Now she has seen the movie, she appreciates it even more!

Would love to see a photo of the wreath Sandie......
can you post one in your album so I can see it?

I'm presuming that the deco's you want to make are predominantly black? That would be cool.....
I am having visions of a black christmas tree ...... :D

Actually I want decorations for outside! My house is a corner house and we have a street light right on the apex of the corner. Picture large angelic angels with jack-o-lantern heads strung between the house and the pole, Oogie on my roof and Jack and zero in my garden. We will have to change our fairy lights to blood red ones I think!
