Documentary: Walt & El Grupo

The Walt Disney Family are releasing a new documentary to cinemas in the United States on September 11 titled Walt & El Grupo

It is about Walt's trip to South America in 1941 which was sponsored by the US Government and was designed as a goodwill tour to promote US values at a time when German-led fascism was in danger of taking off in the continent. The US Government obviously didn't want a continent of Nazis on their doorstep - so it was Walt to the rescue!

They are tying the release date of this film with the opening of the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco.

Several of the MountainEars went and saw Walt and El Grupo this last Sundy. Well worth seeing IMHO You can read more in my blog on our club website.

Thanks Ken - I was looking forward to this too. We probably will only get to see it here on DVD once it is released - I doubt it will make a theatre showing in Australia.

I missed the panel on this at the Expo - it was one of those things where we had to make sacrifices as to which presentation to see!
