Another new sequel

Postby sandie » Thu Jul 31, 2008 8:59 pm

Not Disney but...... Who Ya Gonna Call....

The 40-Year-Old Virgin co-stars Steve Carell and Seth Rogen are to reteam for a new Ghostbusters movie, according to Internet reports. The funnymen are at the centre of a huge new movie rumour, which has been reported by DreadCentral.com. According to “a reliable source, who cannot be named”, Carell and Rogen will join the original four Ghostbusters, Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson, for a third film. According to the website, the original GhostBusters stars will hand over their “proton packs” to the new guys, for what insiders believe will be a new run of spook-chasing movies.

Speaking again of the '80's the part in this movie where the librarian turns into an evil ghost scared the bejeebus out of me!

Yep, I can remember leaving the theatre decidedly shaky after those movies... Loved them though.
I was camping with friends after seeing the second one, and that night there was a lot of flashlight hijinks that had the girls just about huddled in a corner.... sheesh.... boys.

This might well be a good show.... I love Steve Carell. Anyone seen his latest... Dan in real life? that was pretty funny .... saw it on the plane on the way home.

These didn't scare me. Afterall, anything with Elwood Blues in it couldn't be scary, just funny and entertaining! Plus I was a brave boy, there to protect and comfort the damsels 8)

I liked Carell in Dan in real life (looks around checking) even though it was a chick flick. I thought it was well done and he played his part well Surprised me really, I wasn't sure how he would go in a role like that. I absolutely hated him in the Office, only because the yanks, again destroyed a great show, by making their own version.

A new version of Ghostbusters worries me though. I always get nervous when they dredge up the successful franchises of the past and try and continue the theme or whatever. Some come off, some are destroyed.
2023 Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines - Disney Wish. Going to be awesome to be back!

I'm imagining a pitch session where someone says :How about a movie where these guys set up a business getting rid of ghosts for people like ghost exterminators. They have all the same gear as normal exterminators, just for ghosts. People ring them up and they go round..." and then someone says "Great idea but it sounds kind of familiar". A bit of thought later and they realise that to use the idea they have to call it a sequel or a remake and pay off the original guys.

I'm feeling so cynical today. 8)
