We've been camping. Yes, in the rain with two toddlers - but it was actually quite fun. Regardless, I haven't had the chance to see this yet. I've booked the MIL in for next weekend :)

Yep, after a few aborted attempts ( even got as close as being in the line for the tickets .... grrr) went to see this today. Possible spoilers follow , ( sort of)

but.. Loved it! for the exact reasons you said Keith, my mouth watered every time they talked about the creole food ( one prominant one of which, I had sampled more than once while I was in DTD) and during the first song I leaned over to Millie and mentioned that I NEEEEED that soundtrack.

I am a sooky la la and so cried in the appropriate spot and belly laughed in others. The animation was astounding and I noticed at least 4 distinctly 'other Disney movie moments' imbedded in the story. Course, it might have just been my overactive imagination but I loved the whole thing ... definitely one I'll be buying as soon as I can.
The 'African American' thing was handled with grace and typical Disney magic.... A truly worthy princess.
Don't even get me started on the translucence ( is there such a word) of the colours.... Went from watercolour picture perfect to flouro mayhem seamlessly... absolutely beautiful.

Loved it with a capital L. -/

Beautifully put Lisa - I was thinking of you while watching it - given all your previous posts about waiting to see this, waiting to see the artwork, waiting to hear the music etc - I just knew you'd be giddy about it :D

I also noticed a number of other Disney nods (can't remember them all at the moment - but when I saw them on screen I went "Oh - that's cool!")

I saw at least one hidden mickey too - maybe two but I'll have to wait for the DVD to confirm!

Yep - I strongly urge every Disney movie fan to go see this one!

I might be going solo in the next few days - the teenage boys are rolling their eyes at the suggestion of them going with me! I don't mind I saw New Moon for the second time on my own.

All I cant say about this movie is WOW! Watching hand drawn animation was so good. The colors just jumped off the screen and I was often reminded in the dark voodoo scenes of the amazing pink elephants from Dumbo which is one of the great Disney scenes. The story was fantastic and I honestly haven't felt this excited by a Disney movie since Aladdin. What more can I say? I will be seeing it again on Monday. I cant wait for the bluray to come out. Every thing about this movie screamed old school Disney and you would almost think Walt worked on it himself. He would be proud

Nicely put Brizmarc... I think Walt would be proud of this artisty. Instead of just dazzling with bells and whistles, it appealed on so many levels.

We watched it in the Walt Disney Theater on the ship (obscene name dropping hehe :D ). I too was in awe of the movie and the quality of the traditional animation. The storyline was fun and the characters were all great. However I will need to see it again though, every time I sat in that theatre, the whole decor and ambience would always take me away somewhere, so it was a little distracting.

Yay, we finally got to see this yesterday! I LOVED it. Really, really loved it!

I never thought I was a jazz fan before, but I found myself tapping along with the music nearly the whole movie through.

The animation was beautiful, more than once I let out an "oooooh" at just how gorgeous it was.

I haven't felt like this about Disney characters since... Lilo and Stitch maybe? Really loved it. Wish I could figure out a way to go see it on the big screen again, but I'll more than likely have to wait for it on DVD.

Oh and Lisa, I bawled like a baby in parts! Did more than the ugly cry... I didn't even manage to pull of SILENT crying  Can I still blame my breastfeeding hormones? LOL

Haven't been yet and I want to do Toy story 1 & 2 3d before it goes - too many movies - too little time.
