Toy Story 1, 2 & 3 - in 3D

Postby KeithS » Sat Jan 26, 2008 7:05 am

According to Variety magazine, Disney/Pixar are going to re-release all the Toy Story films in Digital 3D! One a year leading up to the release of Toy Story 3.

I like the Disney Digital 3D projections - so this project gets the thumbs up from me. I can wait to see it happen!

That's cool! I remember seeing Toy Story at the cinema and not believing it was animation - it already seemed so real.

Okay - here are the expected release dates:

Toy Story - October 2, 2009
Toy Story 2 - February 12, 2010
Toy Story 3 - June 18, 2010

Is it me, or does it seem weird to everyone else that we are talking about movie releases for "2010" as being not far away :?

We have a Toy Story 3 teaser out. Here is the link (it doesn't give us anything, but it's fun).

I saw this on the Greater Union website a while back. I'm hoping I'll be able to get Ben to sit still long enough to watch a movie by the time 3 comes out :)

Alright! And we just had a new movie theatre open up on the Coast that boasts the latest and greatest technologies for showing this type of movie.

Unfortunately I'll be on the other side of the world in a small village with no electricity when it's all happening.

Story in the Sydney Morning Herald today includes a trailer. Keith, is it possible to get the trailer added into the Trailer section?

I've been slack recently in updating the trailers page - I'll get on to it tonight!

That's a good point - not everyone here would realise that Greg (Calisota - our webmaster) is currently in Nepal and won't be back to sometime next year.

Just as long as the hackers stay away this time (unlike when Greg went on his last year long adventure!)

Don't forget that Toy Story 1 & 2 are showing for the next two weeks in Disney Digital 3D at a cinema near you! :D

Della and I went to see the Toy Story 1 & 2 double feature - and we sure had fun! It was great to see these two movies on the big screen again.

We went to the George Street cinemas in the City and it was nearly full. The entire audience was people between 25 and 50 - and it was pretty obvious they were all fans.

Between the two movies there is a 10 minute intermission which had been created by Pixar and included some very amusing trivia and animation which was a great touch.

Anyway, go see it if you can as it isn't going to be on for much longer.

Saw it yesterday down at the Entertainment Quarter at Moore Park (formerly Fox Studios), and really enjoyed seeing them both again. Seeing them back to back hammered home how many similar story elements there were between the two, and how much Part 3 will probably retread this...but if it ain't broke I guess.

The 3D was wonderful. Not gimmicky at all, just added to the depth of the film as the previous Disney 3D animation has. Toy Story 3 will be wonderful in this respect at least, and the more I see clips on it, the more I look forward to it.

The cinema was quite empty at 4:50 on a Saturday afternoon, despite a healthy crowd at the cinema. The four folks sitting behind me were all adult fans, who were very vocal with the answers tot he intermission trivia. Happen to be anybody from this board? :)
