I saw Beverly Hills Chihuahua today and even though I was warned i watched the trailer for Bolt - I am glad I did, it may have had spoilers but it made up for the boredom of BHC!!!

Well, I've seen Bolt and it was a good movie. Somehow I doubt it's going to end up ranking among the greatest of Disney movies but enjoyable enough.

Still hard to beat Pixar for CGI movies.

Thing 2 and I went to see Bolt today and we both LOVED it. We laughed all the way through. We saw a hidden mickey (we think) and because I hadn't watched any trailers ( other than the original one you posted here Keith) we didn't have any spoiler issues.
And along those lines I won't say much more till I know everyone has seen it ( Keith? Anthony? Beth? have you guys seen it yet?) but I will say that as much as I loved the histrionics of the hamster, the cat was still my favourite character. Also we both want a dog now.... and embarrassingly, I did wipe a tear near the end - much to Thing 2's amusement.
Even if you've seen the spoiler trailer, I don't think you'll be disappointed, its way better than Chicken Little for instance ( even though I liked that too). I even think we'd get this one on DVD.

Cute movie. :D

That would be wicked Keith... I can think of a couple of scenes that will look brilliant in 3D.

We all enjoyed this one. Good movie, quite entertaining and some twists as well. The trailers don't give away much at all thankfully.

Yay! We saw it last night in 3D and loved it too! The long trailers didn't spoil all the funny bits.

Great story, great characters, and it was genuinely funny - and the action sequences were also very good. The cat is cool - as is the hamster. I also liked the smarmy Hollywood agent.

Come on Sandie - go see it :D

Just wondered if anyone else had the same problems we've been having with our Bolt DVD....

I've returned it twice now and the third one I swapped it for we have had for a while but hadn't watched until this weekend and unfortunately its the same.

The movie freezes in spots and then when it decides to restart, it has green squares that flash here and there and some weird kind of 'script-y thing' comes up across the bottom like subtitles but not actually words. Thats three discs now. We've watch literally dozens of other movie discs in that time and not one of them has that issue.

Any ideas?

We have only watched our DVD once, but didn't have any problems. No idea what could be causing it, my technical knowlege extends only so far as to know how to insert the DVD and press play :)

That's pretty strange Lisa. Given that you've tried three different copies of Bolt, I'd have to put it down to the player. The weird thing is, your description of the symptoms sounds like a disc error! Usually when it breaks up like that, it is because of a scratch or dirt on the disc - but I doubt you'd ever get three dodgy discs in a row.

Maybe the plastic being used by the Bolt DVD manufacturer is creating some weird reflections/refractions in your player that is causing read errors.

I guess you'll have to decide whether to get a new DVD player or not. Have you tried the disc in your neighbours player to see if it works okay?
