Down Under Disneyana Australian Disney Forum

I just realised that I hadn't set up a thread for our upcoming trip to Shanghai and Tokyo.

We are booked to go to Shanghai on 19 March 2017, staying five nights at the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel.  We then fly to Tokyo and stay at the Hilton Tokyo Bay for 10 nights before returning to Sydney.

Our friends from the US are joining us for the trip too, so it'll be great fun and we can't wait.

Less than 100 sleeps to go!

Fantastic Keith, I'm down to about 50 sleeps for my trip.  I've never done the Asian parks so very much looking forward to your travel reports and photos   I love having people to share the Disney excitement with!!!

I'll be following closely.  This is the itinerary we are playing around with for our next trip   

Have you looked into what else there is to do in Shanghai while you're there? Assuming that you aren't spending all your time in the Park.

Also, what was the visa cost?

I'm also keen to read about your trip too Keith, cos that is my plan for late this next year to do HKDL, SHDL and finish in Tokyo.  Or something like it anyway... Millie is still keen to add in Beijing and Seoul as well.  Or we'll chop that up into other bitesized trips... nothing set in stone yet.

I'm living vicariously through other people's holidays at the moment lol. Have you got a list of things you want to do this trip? Anything booked?

Hey Keith. Are you using the 144-hour transit visa in Shanghai?

No Greg. I thought about it but think it is easier to just have a 60 day single entry tourist visa. That way there can't be any issues.

I'm starting to think that way myself. The rules of the 144-hour one say that you must go on to a third country and not just return to your original destination but I can't find any info on whether transits count as going back...if that makes sense.
I'm looking forward to your posts, especially on accommodation, getting around etc.

No worries. I'll be doing the daily journal but won't upload until I get to Tokyo so I'll be going dark for a week on here Not long to go now, just a fortnight.
