Well the votes are in and 95% of people opted for the seven night cruise (option 2)

I'll be putting together a brochure this week and I think Wayne will email out more details.  If you wish to book the cruise yourself, then be our guest, but I also think Wayne may seek assistance from our club member Daniel if you want help putting it all together.  Note that airfares for next September/October are not yet available online, so I'm guessing at this early stage, just the cruise booking is the important bit.

I'll post a link to the brochure in due course.

I half-jokingly floated the idea of ditching the kids and going on our own on this trip and Craig's eyes lit up... and then we realised that the children would never speak to us again if we went on a Disney cruise without them :(  One day we'll make it onto a club trip!

  Just priced up 2 adults v 2 adults/3kids   $5000 US difference.  Why do I love my children so much?!?!?!  So damn expensive!  Obviously they saw how much Ben ate on our cruise last year and upped the kids prices or something....

Well, you still have over a year to price child-minding :)

I really wish I could, but I know I would have a rotten time without them.  The guilt and anxiety would take all the fun out of it for me :(

I'm so glad I'm a SINK. :-)

Any idea if there is anyone who would be looking to share a cabin? I'm really keen to do this but don't think I'd be able to if I had to pay for a whole cabin on my own.

I booked the cruise last night - just 496 more sleeps according to the Disney Cruise Line website. :D

496! That sounds like forever.

Do you need to put down a deposit or pay for it if you book now?

Just a deposit. We paid about $900. I have about a year to pay the rest!

Okay. I might send a message off to Wayne and see if he knows of anyone looking to share a cabin. Don't want to lay down that deposit and then find I cant go.

I'll need to think about this as the cruise is longer than I'd like considering I've never done one and am not always great on boats, plus the cost may be out of my league considering my month long trip to the US earlier this year and not quite 2wks in Japan coming up in Oct/Nov.  I realise rooms may sell out or go up, but I just can't commit at this stage.

Will definitely consider meeting up at Disneyland, still super keen to see how the 'pros' do Disney.  Always so much more fun going somewhere with people who have a true love for it.

This is what I'm considering at the moment. I figure that the cost of a cabin on my own makes the cruise impractical but a quick week in WDW before or after meeting everyone in Disneyland is quite doable.

If you haven't done a cruise before then it would be a shame to miss out. The ship really is huge (even though it's not huge by cruise-ship standards) and completely unlike any other boat you may have been on. If the weather is good then you may not even be fully aware of any movement. I only got thrown out of my bunk a couple of times but I was way down below the waterline and right in the bow of the ship so i got the full benefit of any movement. :-)

I'll need to see what Japan ends up costing, plus I need to do some work on my townhouse :(

I can imagine the cruise would be lots of fun with the usual on-board activities as well as any additional club ones.  I'll what life brings in the next 6mths.

The townhouse will always need work but how often will this opportunity arise?

The ship is definitely big enough to avoid people if you want. :-)
