48,000 points return!!! Damn!! Is that with Qantas?

I've been accumulating FF points for years and have hardly used any, been saving them for just such an occurance.

Yes - they had a special on this week because they are expanding their US services, including flying back to San Francisco.

The fares are a frequent flyer bargain!

Awesome awesome awesome! -/ -/ -/ -/ I was so excited when my friend sent me the link I wasn't able to sleep for the next three nights (including Saturday after the meeting). It cost us almost $3000 in taxes, which is a rort, but still much less than the $6000 I'd budgeted!

Did you only hear about the special at the meeting? Sorry Jess, I would have told you sooner. Come on - details!

Ended up booking 10th April-20th April!!!!!! I AM SOOOOOOO EXCITED. It has been 8 yrs since I was in Disneyland!
looking like we will stay at Park Vue Hotel.

EVEN more excited is that Elissa and Judy will be there in those dates too!

10 years since you were here last?  A lot has changed and many of the rides have been refurbished.  Unfortunatly when you get here there will be a few closures.  The railroad will be closed as will big thunder ranch and the petting zoo.  These are because of the new starwars land thats coming.  I think they are also closing the riverboats and tom sawyers island due to the work going on.

There is still lots of stuff to see though. By april the replacement for luigi's tires should be open so that will be new in DCA.  I assume your going to both Disneyland and DCA while your here?

You mentioned park view hotel.  Any Disney hotels during the stay?

Nice - I had forgotten about the construction on this ride - there hasn't been a lot of hype about it and now it is getting close to opening.  Can't wait to see what it ends up like!

That's so awesome Jess, I'm so happy for you :)  We were looking at the Park Vue, but have ended up booking the Desert Inn.  Those hotels are so close, it's hard to look elsewhere.  Mind you, I wouldn't mind the Disneyland or Grand Cali again if somebody else was paying ;)

How exciting! Thrilled you're going. We'll probably be heading back 2017 and doing Tokyo next year. Can't wait to hear all about your planning.

Also since your in the area I suggest booking a tour of Warner Bros.  The tour is a good one and worth the money.  I have done it a couple of times and both times they took us to the set of the big bang theory.  The second time though I had to subtly mention, "do we get a tour of the big bang set?"  as I suspect the tour guide might have skipped it if I hadnt asked.

Also, worthwhile going to some tapeings of shows while your here.  If Big bang are filming then thats fun to go and watch though tickets are hard to get.

I would love to do a tour like that Kevin - maybe when the boys are a bit older.  I don't know how Jess's girls would go though, they may be a bit more interested than my kids.  I know it'd be about ten minutes before I heard the first "I'm booooooooored...":evil:

We did the Warner Bros tour too. I highly recommend it :) Saw lots of cool behind the scenes stuff. Unfortunately, Big Bang Theory were rehearsing the day we went so we couldn't go on set. We picked up tickets for Jay Leno when we were at Universal studios. If you're there at park opening you can get tickets for different shows that take your fancy (I'm assuming they still offer this?).
