I had a nice little surprise today. While looking in my bag of booty from the club trip to HKDL in 2011, I found $150 HKD. Now I know that's only about $20 but I was glad I looked!

And that's another thing, this bag of booty, it is where I have stored everything I bought in the park ( including Duffy sorry Della) and much of it is still in its packaging and I have no recollection of buying it. What does that say about buying stuff you don't need when you are on holidays? A valuable lesson for my upcoming trip!

I have realised from my DCL Facebook group that I am such a Rookie!

One of the guys has been running a daily trivia competition as we count down to the cruise. (You all know how this gets my competitive juices running!) Yesterday's question referred to the 3 main dining rooms on each ship. All my googling would not help with this question as from my experience and research each ship has more than 3 dining rooms and there are not 3 common dining rooms across all 4 ships, Animator's Palate being the only one in common.

I was completely bamboozled. Then after reading through another thread about dining rotations. I discovered that the Main Dining Rooms refers to those restaurants on the dining rotation and that there are 3 different rotation patterns. (Have your eyes glazed over with disinterest yet?) the importance of your rotation pattern is that you may miss Animator's Palate one night as you have previously booked Palo's (not a Main Dining Room) or you may want to ensure that you hit Lumieres for formal night. So they are all abuzz with contacting DCL to find out what rotation they are on or to request a specific rotation.

Now disney say you find out when you get on the ship. But if you call, as some no doubt have, they say it will be released 2 days before departure. But some CMs have already told some guests and they have noted that there is an alteration in the rotation pattern that is different to previous cruises  let the speculation begin!

No wonder these people need a holiday and I thought I was anal with my organising!

We still haven't unpacked everything from our cruise trip in March last year either. :)

As for the dining organisation - wow, those people are really into it aren't they? We just went with whatever Disney gave us when we traveled on the Fantasy - and that turned out to be fantastic as we got to go to Animator's Palette three times and the other restaurants twice each. Three nights in Animators Palette meant we got to see three completely different events: Turtle Talk, Pirates Night, and the Animation show. Pirates night is held for one night, but if you are in the Animator's Palette that night, the screens are used to show amazing artwork from the making of Pirates of the Caribbean - it was excellent. If you are on a different restaurant rotation which doesn't begin with Animators Palette, then you only get to go there twice for the Turtle Talk and Animation show - so you miss the pirate artwork night.

tsum tsum.
Yeah, I don't get them either. Even Della isn't into them (but she didn't like Pook-a-Looz either until she saw them...and then she started buying them, so we'll see what happens...)

I kinda like the tsum tsum :) I think if there were a whole display of them in front of me, I'd be tempted to take a couple home.

Things have been a bit of a mess the last few days with the death of my brother on Wednesday but we arrive in HK last night and are happily installed in the Hollywood Hotel.

It is very muggy not looking forward to the heat today.

Last night we watched the fireworks from one of the groups room and this morning we are off to chef mickeys for breakfast.

I'll report back when I can and I'll be starting my blog again.

How good is Beth's blog - sounds like she had a fun time in Hong Kong despite the brutal temperatures at that time of the year!
