I bought a bottle of Australian wine for our friends Brian and Patti - but the most amazing thing happened, the girl who served me was Australian and her aunty lives on my street in South Penrith! LOL.
It's a small world after all!

Have a safe trip home!

Sitting at the gate at Orlando International Airport waiting for my flight to LAX. A long day/night/day ahead for me.

Day 23-24-25 - Pop, Flying, Work
I'm back!

My day started about 38 hours ago when I woke up on Saturday morning in Orlando. I had a slow start to the morning and had my breakfast. I then took my checked luggage down to the airline check in and said goodbye to it. I went back to my room and watched English soccer until 11am when I had to check out. As my Magical Express pick up wasn’t until 1:55pm, I just hung around the lobby and the shop for a few hours.

Eventually, the bus came and took me to the airport – I did a quick review of the shops (I didn’t buy anything) then headed through security to wait for my flight which was at 5:55pm – so there was lots of waiting for me on Saturday.

The flight from Orlando to LAX was pretty uneventful – I sat next to a Chinese lady from Canley Heights of all places – she had gone to WDW with her family who were seated around us (and her son’s name was Keith – cool).

When we arrived in LAX – I had to pick up my bags then drag them to the next terminal where the Qantas aircraft depart from – that is an easy walk though, so no drama there. I was so grateful though when the girl at the counter asked if I’d like to get the early Sydney flight! Yes please! If I hadn’t got that, I’d still be travelling now (and would be much grumpier!!! Hehe). The flight went smoothly and I tried to sleep a bit. I arrived in Sydney around 6:15am and flew through customs and quarantine with no stops and little crowd - that was cool. I then caught a taxi to work where I am sitting writing this. I'll be heading home sometime after lunch though - I feel fatigue starting to creep up!

Time to start counting down to Hong Kong now :D

Welcome home Keith! How cool that you could get in on the earlier flight and that your luggage made it too!

and that your luggage made it too!
That was a concern of mine...that or the fact that one of my suitcases is almost dead so I was getting images of the contents of my suitcase coming out on the belt in dribs and drabs! Fortunately it all made it in one piece!

I had to read the bit about going straight to work twice!!!

No wonder you were pooped...

Oh, and welcome home.

The dreaded DD is sure to kick in before long... I'm still suffering from it. Think I need to plan another trip. :?

Lucky you came home when you did Keith, otherwise you might have been sitting around twiddling your thumbs in Washington!

I know! I've been emailing the people I worked with and quite a few are still going to work but unpaid - crazy times over there!
