Day 7 - 30 March 2014 – Hong Kong Disneyland
I
Our special thanks go out to Barry and Narelle for arranging such a wonderful experience!
We are so glad that all that was planned went so well. -/ -/
Just a pity about the weather.
We can only imagine Della's excitement at the Kingdom Club when Minnie arrived.
Catch up with you both at the meeting on Saturday.

Phooey - we are back! I'll write up the final episode of our journal later - suffice to say we had a brilliant trip! I'll also start posting some photos once I've gotten them off Della's camera.
Such amazing experiences and yet Keith you lead with meeting Rapunzel!
How could I not??
Just a pity about the weather.
Not at all Barry - we had a wonderful time and saw the fireworks many times from in the park, so we weren't disappointed by that big storm - we saw some amazing lightning! And seeing Minnie was a delight! We also caught up with Fanny on Monday and had a good chat with her in the hotel. We'll update you on everything on Saturday.
(I'm off to check my bank balance now - hahaha!)

Day 8 - 31 March 2014 – Hong Kong Disneyland/Airport
Today is the final day of our Hong Kong adventure. We awoke this morning to the sound of rain outside, and of Qantas trying to call me on my mobile. I was half hoping the flight was cancelled and we’d get another day here, but they were just telling us our aircraft type had changed as had our seating – no problems.
We got up and headed downstairs to Walt’s for breakfast. We ran into Fanny the Hotel Manager and had a good chat with her and told her how good the hotel and cast members had been. We then did another hotel Disney shop including rain ponchos. We had earlier bought a Sheriff Woody umbrella and discovered it was too big to pack in our suitcase, so we tried to see if the hotel would ship it, but when the hotel rang up the post office, they refused it, but the hotel bubble wrapped it for us and we were able to check it with Qantas later in the evening.
After getting the umbrella wrapped, we ran into Snow White in the lobby before heading to the park for the last time. We wore our ponchos but it wasn’t raining too hard by now. We got to the park and the first thing we did was go to the photo shop to get our pictures with Rapunzel from the previous night. I dropped the photos in a locker then we decided to do a full walkaround of the park to say goodbye.
We walked through the castle and then into Adventureland, Grizzly Gulch, Mystic Point and Toy Story land. We headed back to Mystic Point to buy some gifts and ride Mystic Manor again. Most outdoor attractions were closed following the Amber rain alert this morning, so Grizzly was currently shut. We kept walk through to Fantasyland and noticed that they were beginning to cycle the outdoor attractions, so we went back to Grizzly Gulch and took a final ride on the coaster (everything was a walk on today as the storms had kept the crowds away.)
After Grizzly, we headed over to Space Mountain for a final ride on that too. It was getting towards our departure time, so we grabbed lunch at the Starliner Diner – our traditional last day lunch spot for Hong Kong Disneyland. After lunch we went over to the last attraction we hadn’t been on – Tarzan’s Treehouse. I have taken photos from the same point on the treehouse on every trip which really shows how the park and foliage has grown.
After Tarzan, there was time for one more shop – so we headed to Main Street for a final pick up of items. I emptied our locker and together we headed to the Hong Kong Disneyland exit for the last time. Back at the hotel, we had to do some suitcase rearranging due to Della’s last minute purchases! But that all sorted, we got showered and changed and headed to the lobby to check out.
A short taxi trip later, we were all checked in at the airport – and we managed not to buy anything else at the Hong Kong Disneyland shop. A short stay in the new Qantas Club and we headed to the plane and the trip home.
