Hi guys... sorry about the delay in the blog...
I spent the first few nights trying to get my laptop to play nice with my security program... finally managed it, and now I can't read anything on it because its all in Japanese and no matter what I try, I can't seem to change it... so unless a miracle happens, the blog updates might have to wait till I get home ... I'm writing them as I go, but can't put them up.

A quick rundown :

Arrived with a sick daughter in tow... she is still unwell and now has an ear infection so can't/won't go on any rides, and is grumpy at me when I go alone. (Grumpy face)
First day was Disneyland, and we had great weather and the Tanabata star week is just amazing. Took squillions of photos. They have a wishing pavillion in the Main Street where both Millie and I made wishes. We both got a bit sunburned despite sunscreen.
The castle looks just beautiful for the 30th and the Merch is fun. I love all the souvenir cups and plates you get when you buy food and I'm making sure if I see one, I eat whatever is on it so I can have the plate :)
Can't decide which popcorn bucket to buy.
Today was DisneySea. Also gorgeous with all the 30th stuff everywhere. There are 'happy magic' stations scattered around the park but we bolted past them today as it was raining at monsoon levels all day. We were soaked from early on but held out till about 7pm when we could no longer stand the wet sock in sneakers feel. We then retreated to the shops, where my spending money took a severe hammering ... and believe it or not... its Millie who's needing to be reined in on the souvenir front. For someone who has made fun of me wanting to buy a Shellie-Mae, she was the first to buy a Duffy bag ( although, I was pretty close behind with a Shellie-Mae and 30th outfit) and has plans to buy more
Tomorrow is back to Disneyland just in case it rains again all day... we didn't do much of the undercover stuff there yet just in case it rained a lot again.

Woohoo! Thanks for the update Lisa!

We also love collecting the plates and cups that come with the meals and desserts - they are always cheap but fantastic quality china - not just plastic :)

Della will be jealous that you got Shellie-Mae in her 30th outfit, you'll have to post a picture when you get back so that I can show her.

Have a great time - I hope Millie feels better soon and can go on the rides.
Keith

Happy to report Millie went on 3 rides today.... Pooh was her highlight - and for that matter, mine too. What an amazing ride??? So glad we FP'd it though... waits are around 110 mins most of the time, except for Pirates which has been a walk on both days - which puzzles me a bit. We also did Pirates today as well as Jungle cruise. Pretty tame ones, but she is improving so hopefully tomorrow at Sea we can give a few wilder ones a go. We waited 80 minutes to see Mickey today... after that, she refused to line up anywhere :?

The 30th stuff is kind of cute, but very YELLOW... I guess its meant to be gold. I'll post some snaps when we get home :)

Oops, sorry guys, yep, we did make it home fine. The trek from the Goldie took a long time ( and in hindsight, will book through Brisbane no matter what from now on) and have been in recovery ever since. I am back at work and looking forward to Sunday off in a big way :)

I've been catching up with the blog writing while I recover from the chest infection I picked up on the trip and hope I'll be able to get them posted starting on Sunday/Monday.

Lots of stories to tell :) I will say though, that the difference in Japan in the 13 year gap was quite startling. Not so much the place itself, but the attitudinal shift was palpable.

So has the ticker malfunctioned Lisa or have you another TDL trip planned and booked in 12 months?

LOL, looks like the Ticker doesn't have a 'stop now' function, sadly, no Japan trip for next year planned at this point. Although, as I am wont to do, on the trip home I let my mind wander to the next possible Disney trip perhaps to HKDL sometime next year or perhaps a non-Disney trip to elsewhere in Asia.

I'll fix the ticker :)

And Thanks Keith I love writing up all the 'stuff' that makes a trip real, I hope to get some up on the blog today, have to work tomorrow now, but trying to get everything up by the end of the week ( in and around work/uni) */
