I think you did well booking for four.

My calculation says 384,000 points, how long did it take you to accumulate them.
I had quite a few from my travelling days with Telstra saved up. Also we had 4 people's worth of 2 return airfares to LA which we combined together. I also use Credit Card, but don't spend way near enough to make it worthwhile. Unfortunately this might be our last award flight for a while.

The internals we also paid for.

Congrats on securing your FF flights!

I'm not impressed to hear it is getting harder to book FF flights. I have been saving (most of) my points since the end of 2008 and have accumulated 680 000 - saving for round world business for 2px (me and DH).

We spent 864 000 points in 2008 for 9px to travel economy FF tix Sydney to LA return (We paid for domestic flights in USA to go to Orlando and Vegas). This took over an hour to book with an agent via phone (and NO 5000 point charge either) then another 35 mins a week later when FIL decided to try to change his flight (left day prior to ours - lucky me). I was thinking we may make the trip in 2012 but I have yet to convince either Grandma to stay with the kids long enough to make a trip worthwhile.

My biggest fear is that Qantas would fold before I spend my points (Ansett points anyone?)...Good luck to everyone trying for award flights in 2012 and to those looking for Free Dining at WDW in Sept (umm - like ME!)

Hi Mel, the rooms at both ends of Riverside are really not much different in size. The difference is the Bayou end has a pull out trundle which takes up a bit of space but its not out all the time. I can tell you the rooms get cramped for two adults and two teenagers after a week or tow - all the purchases start taking up room! We stayed in one of the rooms once with a crib and it was like climbing a junle gym to get around. Although I don't like the All Stars or Pop resorts if I had three kids I think I would think about a family suite there. If we travel with the kids again (depends on Eli getting her scholarship for years 11 and 12) I think we would splurtge and book two adjoining rooms. It gets to a stage where you may want to do things in your hotel room you don't want teenagers listening to.........

Sandie - your holiday sounds much more exciting than mine!

After just returning from our stay ot POR, Alligator Bayou section, with our family of 5, I would rather stay at POP in two rooms (2xTVs) than a mod resort. I did not think there was anymore room at POR (with the trundle) than there was at ASSports or POP. We have stayed in a value resort with a Pack'n'Play (and you can't roll that under the bed each morning) and had more floor space! Next visit I'm gonna check out Beach Club...only because Wildness Lodge doesn't have budget rooms for 5px-lol. Wish me luck!

I'm sure this will be our last holiday with all of us in the same room. Any future trips will definitely be separate rooms!

I would agree with this, I think the rooms are similar size at AS, POP or a even a deluxe unless you are getting a 1 bedroom and I think these are only in the villas.

From what I understand the cost of a suite at POP or AS is similar to getting 2 standard rooms. Have you compared the cost difference Anthony. Also would like to compare the cost of rooms at POP/As Vs POR. That will be an exercise I can do while we are at WDW.

Will be also interested in the new section being built at POP, Art of Animation Resort, this is all suites with a living room and a bedroom.

You forgot the important part maybe, in separate rooms and paying for themselves!

Double figures until we fly out. 99 days to go as of today. Now it feels like it's getting close. -/

We started our Hong Kong countdown at 99 days, and I have to tell you - that time has flown by (just 8 sleeps now).

It'll be here before you know it Anthony.

100 days today till we board the Fantasy -/ . I paid the balance today, and on the 15th, I can book away. Good news is that around 4pm our time on the 15th will be better than those waiting up till midnight over there. I think the only thing I'll look at for the moment is brunch at Palos.

I've made some ADRs. I have Rose & Crown, 50's Prime Time, Sci-Fi Dine in, Tusker House, Crystal Palace and The Plaza Restaurant booked. My very helpful travel agent over there has also given our food allergy info for Em to them as well. She has also booked us the 3 broomsticks breaky as well. 84 till we fly out and things are starting to move.

Woot! 100 days!!!!! -/

Can you book shore excursions then too? Are you planning on doing any? Is your balcony cabin one of the family (ie sleeps five?) cabins?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm back in Disney planning mode now that I have so much time on my hands!
