Trip Planning Well Underway

Day 2! Last night we watched the fireworks from our hotel room, that was great! One thing I forgot to mention is our shower/bath has a television in it! Will post photo when I return. Today we went to Disneyland! It is a public holiday here so the place was packed. It was a cloudless blue sky day and 28 degrees! We could clearly see Mt Fuji from the resort. We did the Adventureland and Western land attractions before hitting the shops and having lunch. We then left the park to get changed for the Disney on Classic concept in Ichikawa City, about 40 minutes away. The concert was brilliant with a mix of theme park and movie music in the first act, and then the entire Beauty and the Beast soundtrack in the second act. The singers were all from New York and the orchestra was the Tokyo Philharmonic. Bought more loot there before getting taxi back to hotel. Tokyo Disneysea tomorrow and our quest to bring home Shelliemae!

And we've spent about two weeks in Tokyo and NEVER had a clear view of Mt Fuji. Well done

Day 3. Tokyo Disneysea. Another beautiful day in Tokyo, although it started overcast with threat of rain. We headed to Disneysea on a quest to get Della a photo with Duffy. Once again we were awe-struck by the park entry, but rather than snapping photos of the volcano, we headed to the Columbia and Duffy photo spot. A queue was already forming so we jumped on. After about 30 minutes though, it began to rain, so I was ordered to the shops to get ponchos. By the time I had them, the sun was out! Anyway, Della got her photo and Duffy hugged me too, even though I wasn't in the photo. We then headed to Aunt Peg's for Duffy shopping. It was crazy fun in that mad-cap Japanese shopping frenzy. Don't worry Sandie, I picked you a nice Shellie-mae. We spent about $500 there, I kid you not! Crazy! We got a Fastpass for Tower of Terror then got a locker for all our loot. We headed up to Vulcania for a yummy lunch and grabbed another FP for 20,000 Leagues. We went and watched Mythica which is awesome, more shopping, then used our FPs. A few more rides then we entered the lottery for the Halloween stage show. We won centre tickets in the front section. I'll explain more when I get back, but the show was brilliant. We stayed at the park until we were tossed out at 10pm. Wayne has arrived at the hotel and we'll have breakfast tomorrow with him and Jennifer. Will update more tomorrow!

What a great day! Now I'm homesick for DisneySea. I love that park.

I think our next family trip will have to be to Tokyo - reading this makes me wish Peter and John had seen it.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Yes Lisa, definitely Halloween decked out, the Japanese are crazy for it. Anyway, on to Day 4! And tonight I'm actually coming live from Tokyo Disneyland. Della and I are sitting down waiting for the Electrical Parade in 35 minutes. Another hot and sunny day here in Tokyo. We caught up with Wayne and Jennifer this morning and entered DL together. We tried to get Monsters Inc FP but the queue was massive, so we went and got a Big Thunder FP and then rode pirates. We remarkably found some fluffies Della hadn't already bought, so now we have them too. We did the railroad, teacups, small world, watched Minnie Oh Minnie stage show, then went on Big Thunder. Off to shops next and lunch then watched the Halloween Parade which is awesome. Next was Haunted Mansion Holiday, then shops, dinner and now waiting for the Electrical Parade. Lots of other things that I can't remember. Back to Disneysea tomorrow!
