Looks amazing Greg!  I've been busy the past few weeks and trying to catch up now on everything I've missed.  Love the photos and certainly will get there one day, Tokyo this year though.  Now I need to go back to the trip report and catch up there.....

Fantastic Lauren!  You were hoping to get to a park this year, great to hear you'll make it.

Tokyo is the one I'd like to go back to (after WDW) because I only had the one day there and don't think I did it justice.

I did notice your list of preferences and I agree with WDW, DL, then PDL as that's my order for the 3 I've done.  Was pleased to see TDL in second on your list and I remember a few at club praising it.  We'll have at least 4 full days for the parks and our last day we'll have a fair part of the day outside the parks (checking out the hotels, shopping, etc)  before we have to leave for the night time flight home.  It'll be my sister's birthday so she wants to stay in a Disneyland character room; seeing it'll be a one-off splurge I'll just close my eyes and pay what I have to as it will be a great experience.  Usually we're not in the room enough but I'm hoping with 5 nights we'll have time to appreciate the room as well.

I only had the one day so I only got to see Disneysea not Disneyland. I haven't seen anything to beat the theming for Disneysea, walking in there for the first time was some serious wow factor.

4 full days gives you 2 days in each Park so you'll get the full experience. Don't shortchange Tokyo though, it's an amazing city, easy to get around, lots of great food and sights.

We're staying 2 days in Tokyo and 4 in Osaka (incl Kyoto, Nara and Universal).  It'll be a good intro to Japan for me and I have no doubt I'll be going back for a proper tour to see more of the countryside and the cities in a couple of years time.  Oh so many trips I want to do.  While I love Disney it's usually a side trip between seeing other cities and gorgeous landscape so this trip will be somewhat reversed with almost half the time at Disney and only a few days seeing some of the sights.

Sounds good. The vending machines alone are worth visiting Japan for.

I rate Tokyo Disneysea as my favourite park in the world. Even when it is insanely busy it is still fantastic. Wish I was there right now to tell the truth! LOL

I wonder how much is too much though. If you were retired and lived next door how long before it lost it's magic. I imagine Hong Kong would lose it quicker than Orlando just due to size.

My sister was originally going to do Shanghai and Hong Kong Disney parks but chose Tokyo because of Disneysea and how different it is.  Looking forward to that.

That's the $1 million question isn't it!  I would think it would lose some of the magic - but when you consider how fanatical the annual passholders in Anaheim are who go there every week, then maybe it wouldn't - I just don't know!

I would assume that one of the things keeping it from going stale would be just rocking up for an hour or two or when there is something special on. Being able to walk in, have a quick ride or something to eat would be nice as opposed to having spent so much time money and effort to get there that you feel guilty not squeezing every second out of the place. WDW would be a place where you could spend a long time making short visits and not see the same thing twice.

I had a season pass to Dreamworld once, when i lived close, and it was nice to just go in and have a cup of tea at a cafe that had a great view of the tigers.
