Disney Dream Maiden Voyage

Postby KeithS » Thu Jan 07, 2010 12:20 pm

No - I'm not going on it :(

But if you are interested, it is currently on sale. The Disney Dream's maiden cruise is a 4-night Bahamian cruise set for 26 January 2011 and it is on sale now.

I had a look at the rates (for interests sake...) for a ocean view verandah cabin for two people and the total price was from $3,548.34USD on deck 5, up to $3,708.34USD on deck 9 or 10. These rooms sleep 3-4. If you want an ocean view family room with verandah, sleeping 4 or 5, expect between $3,948USD and $4,028USD depending on deck.

Prices include the ground transportation and vacation insurance.

I actually find the prices for Disney Cruises quite reasonable. They are bigger cabins than most other ships and after all, it's still Disney. Still trying to convince Craig that we need to add one to our 2014 big trip :)

Don't get me wrong - I do too - I found that rate more than reasonable! In fact - when I was looking at it, I had my mouse hovering over the Book Now button :D

But then my brain kicked in and told me that January 26 is just three months after I return from two weeks in Tokyo and that I won't have any annual leave and that my boss would probably kill me... :(

Check this out. It's the new Animator's Palette on the Dream and it looks very special. Once I finished typing this, I'm heading back to the employment boards, I need a job fast so I can plan a cruise on this ship  .

WOW! I so want to do a cruise but it seems such a long way away in our current planning - I think we'll just have to bite the bullet and set a date. We are always saying that we'll do it the year after next... but it never happens! I need to start saving up annual leave :D

Has anybody from the club booked a Disney Dream cruise? I've been playing around a bit with it today and I SO want to "Ride The Duck". Craig still wasn't sold on us doing a cruise (he's far too sensible with money), but by the time he'd watched the video they have the one cruise line website now, he was saying that we'd have to book early so we could get connecting rooms :D Five years is an awful long time to wait though :(

I'm planning a big tour of Europe in 2014 and am hoping for a Disney Mediterranean cruise and I really don't care which ship it is. But if they put Oz on the list of ports then I'll be on that maiden voyage.

Me too!!!

I so wanted to do the maiden voyage, but it just wasn't meant to be :(

It'll be another couple of years before we do the cruise, but Dream or Fantasy are definitely the two ships we want to get on!

Given the Dream is only doing up to 5 nights, it's not a priority. Although a back to back on the Dream would be worth considering. Now if the Dream or Fantasy head West Coast or better still out to the Pacific for longer cruises, then I'll be clambering to jump on board. Or if they send one on an Eastern European tour that too would get me there.
