Given the Dream is only doing up to 5 nights, it's not a priority. Although a back to back on the Dream would be worth considering. Now if the Dream or Fantasy head West Coast or better still out to the Pacific for longer cruises, then I'll be clambering to jump on board. Or if they send one on an Eastern European tour that too would get me there.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that once the Fantasy is up and running, the Dream will be booted onto the Caribbean circuit rather than the Bahamas. I want a 7 night Caribbean cruise and hopefully by the time we go, the Dream of the Fantasy will be servicing that route. :)

Yay! The Disney Dream floated out of its construction hall today - not long now before it'll be plying the waves!

Ooooh! It's HUGE isn't it?!?!

Disney Fantasy is also taking bookings now for 2012. It looks like the Fantasy will be doing the 7 night cruises of the Caribbean.

BTW, I've now upgraded Craig from 'maybe' doing a cruise to 'definitely' doing a cruise :D I think the Aqua Duck did it!

This ship looks stunning. I love the Sorcerer Mickey work around the name aft (that's ship talk for back  ). One of those balcony rooms at the back look pretty tempting.

Just reading the D23 article on the Disney Dream and noted an emphasis in the Animator's Palate restaurant on Australia, with Crush and the east Australian current and reference to regional food of the Pacific Rim, including Australian and NZ wines. Now in my books a food can only be labelled as regional if the ship is in the region of Australia .....?

We gotta be on that maiden voyage but here is the question, do you take the first cruise into Sydney Harbour or the first one out? -/

That's a very good question Beth. I think it depends on the port at the other end. For example if it's a repo cruise from West Coast to Sydney, I reckon that would be fantastic and would prefer that. But if the first cruise out of Sydney was a decent one that went say around Tassy and to Adelaide and Perth, that would also be a great one. If it was just a standard island cruise out of Sydney, then coming in would be the preference.

Check this photo by Bob Iger approaching Castaway Cay with the Dream docked. Not a bad shot for a phone.

We tried to make a booking on the Dream for April 5 next year and it is booked out. This is a 5 day cruise because any shorter wouldn't be enough. The 5 day on the 10th is also full which is incredible given it is only just May now. So looks as though we have to try and book a 4 day on the 15th which isn't the preference but we want to experience the Dream.

That's pretty amazing Anthony. I guess the new ships are going to be in huge demand for a couple of years at least. Hope you get your booking.

How exciting that you're in the booking stage?!?!?!

Did you try the Disney Fantasy? That's taking bookings but I don't know what the schedule for it is.

I thought the Fantasy was coming on line around June, but I'll do some digging.

Thanks Keith! Fantasy sails march next year and is doing the preferred 7 night. Only problem is the cost, way outside the budget. Time to review I think.

ajp, where did you try and book the cruise from?
sometimes travel agents can get a place where there seems to be none cos there are always some places set aside for agents to access that are not available for online bookings. perhaps they could price match for you? Its the same on flights, accomodation and cruises... I'm just suggesting that sometimes booked solid isn't necessarily so... worth a try perhaps if your hearts are set on the Dream?
