Wow - how much fun was last night?

Let's acknowledge Karen who flew down from Brisbane for the meeting and the chance to meet with a bunch a Disney fans!  I hope you enjoyed yourself Karen and have a safe flight home this afternoon - don't forget to sign on to the forum!

Of course - a BIG THANK YOU to all of our intrepid Shanghai Club Trip adventurers who gave us a comprehensive round up of everything you'd want to know about the new resort!  

Wayne set the scene for the evening with an overview of the Shanghai Disney Resort map and the highlights of the park and hotels so we could see the general layout.

We then went into the Shanghai trip and had different people present different aspects of the trip along with many photos.

Firstly, Julie and Barry took us on a tour of the surrounding area including Disney Town, the railway station, and hotels.

Gerard and Michelle spoke about the unique attractions and showed some great photos without any spoiler video (thanks!)

Barry and Narelle spoke about the trip planning and some of the special events including what the club got up to in Hong Kong (Kingdom Club visit, Grand Marshals, etc).

This was all interspersed with show and tell as the night progressed.

Finally we ended with a Q&A panel from everyone and heard more about the resort and some funny anecdotes of their trip.

We finished with supper and lucky door and raffle prizes (Grand Opening stuff!)

Special thanks for all the gifts that were brought back for the club members such as opening day certificates, opening day park maps, pins, stickers, and everything else!

The next meeting will be held on Saturday 3 September at 7:30pm. 

Sounds like a great night...
as always, wish I was closer so I could attend

Thanks Keith for the acknowledgement and the advice for getting onto the Forums (and the lift home), I'm finally up and running!  I'll check out some of the posts a bit more this weekend.

A big thank you from me to all members who attended the July meeting, such a warm, friendly and welcoming environment.  As a brand new member, unknown to you all, I felt so blessed to have received some of the treats brought back from Shanghai.  

I'm in Sydney the weekend prior to your next meeting so I'll aim for attending a meeting closer to Christmas.  In the meantime I'll keep an eye on the boards for upcoming meetings and what you're all up to as you visit different parks (if you post these trip reports). 

You can never have enough Disney friends in your life. -/

I'll be six days behind you

And it looks like Outback Jacks Chullora have closed permanently - they've dropped the location from their website, so I'll have to do a drive by and see what is moving in there.

I guess in the mean time we can continue to use the Bankstown Sports Club like last time.
