Hi guys,

I hope there are still a few people here who remember me.

I can't remember what I was doing the last time I updated but I am currently in Laos, semi unemployed, and looking to figure out life after a couple of changes in circumstance. I say semi unemployed because I am working in a coffee shop 25 hours a week in return for room and board. I'm actually starting to get a reputation as one of the best baristas in town.

All of which is the set up for a question.

Would anyone have any objections if I was to put google ads on the site in an attempt to defray the cost of hosting? I have time between coffees and also want to revamp the site since I've done nothing with it for a while. I would also try to increase traffic and get more postings happening in the forum all of which would be to the forums advantage and obviously mine as well in terms of clicks.

It's been a while since we've seen you lurking here

Anything that brings more forum posts would be welcome - it has been a quiet little corner of the internet for a while now as I suspect most of our former followers have moved into the Facebook world. I generally feel that I'm posting to myself The site could also do with a general spruce-up!

Laos is an...interesting place to live. You have to weigh up the benefits of a fairly inexpensive and laid back life style with the lack of facilities and the uncertainty of a very communist country. It's really a land of contrasts, incredibly poor but everyone has a mobile phone. I'm going to be trying to post a little more regularly on my travel blog so I'll keep you updated about new posts.

I'll try and update everything, make it look nicer and try to get the word out thee into a few places to hopefully bring in new members. I'll also be doing my best to post interesting, discussionable things here, even if it is just you and me discussing them. Maybe even post something on Facebook.

I'm thinking of changing the front end of the site from joomla to wordpress. Joomla is probably overkill for what we need. It'll just make it easier to maintain.

If I did up a flyer type thing extolling the virtues of the site and forum do you think Wayne would be willing to include it in the next mail out he does?

I assume you'll be watching the All Blacks relentless march to the World Cup tonight? (damn, where's that All Blacks smilie)

Trying a new look for the forum. The graphic at the top doesn't really fit at the moment but I'll leave that until tomorrow. I'm not an artist, graphic or otherwise, so it'll take me a day to come up with something.

Playing with a new frontpage for the site at http://dudisneyana.info/tempfrontpage/ if anyone wants to have a look and give an opinion. That and the forum tie in look wise.

They both look okay (given the screen size) on my phone but if you run into any issues on any platform please let me know.

Hi Greg (sorry about delay, I've been away for work again).

I love the new forum skin - it looks a lot better than the generic blue which is common to many phpBB sites.

I'll need to get used to the front page - I'll take a better look at it on the weekend. Thanks for all your efforts and it is great to have you back here!

The Disneyana facebook group died, seems like there were only three of us there. Some of us are friends on FB and that works.

I've asked Wayne if i can include a flyer plugging the site in the next mailout he does. ny other ideas?

Hi! The forum looks really good. I personally don't have a Facebook page (shock!!) so I'm happy sticking to the forum. It'd be great to have more people on here to talk to. Have we considered an Instagram account? That'd be a great way to reach out. I use it (madamerebecca). Happy to help if needed

Yeah, I only have an account because some things require one to login.

I do miss the odd invitation to things though but I usually rely on someone to say "see you on...".
