Yesterday was a lot of fun and I just wanted to say thank you from Brad, Charlotte and I for making us feel so welcome.

Hi Rebecca - it was great meeting you, Brad and Charlotte last night! It was also great to see Brad give Gerard a run for his money in the Disneyland knowledge stakes
(for what it is worth, the purpose of the original castle survey spike has been lost - even Dave Smith the Disney archivist, wasn't able to find out. It doesn't appear to have been the park centre however this is definitely the story that cast member tour guides tell their guests now. There is a lot of information about it in this thread: http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthr ... 54d61d7395 including photos showing it is not near the centre of the park either now or in the past. I'm leaning towards believing it is just the centreline of Main Street to ensure the castle was aligned dead centre.)

A big thanks to everyone who made it last night and to all the folks who put in a lot of time around the organisation of the event. A big thank you as well to Julie for the magnificent 60th Anniversary Cake and to everyone who helped with games and segments for the night (Wayne, Jess, Gerard, Sandie, Julie, Barry etc - you know who you all are!)

Thanks Kevin - yes, it was a terrific night.

Disney Parks donate some nice 60th Anniversary prizes for lucky-door and raffle prizes, along with a goody bag for everyone including the latest park maps, times guides etc.

We had some good presentations by various members on the parks, the history of Disneyland, and new merchandise. We also had plenty of trivia, games and other segments. It was a great night!

It looks and sounds like a fabulous night - I'm so annoyed to have missed it

Don't forget there are two more club meetings this year, as well as the end of year dinner!

The next meeting is on 29 August 2015 at 7:30pm followed by the final meeting on 24 October 2015 at 7:30pm.

The end of year dinner will be sometime in November - we'll advise a date closer to the event
