Confessions of a Disney fan

Today I am opening the Disney fan confessional. This is your opportunity to finally make that confession that has been eating you up for years.

You profess to being a die-hard Disney fan but if we only knew the truth you could no longer be called a "card carrier". Perhaps it is a secret about your visits to the parks eg you have never had a churro, gotten Mickey's autograph or ridden Dumbo. Perhaps it is that classic movie that you have never seen such as Bambi. Perhaps it a secret collection of memorabilia eg have you kept every Disney park serviette you've ever used?

Well here's your chance to tell us that little secret, shine the light on your shame and let us lighten your burden with laughter and ridicule.

As I have opened the confessional I will begin.... I do not own a pair of Mickey ears!!! There I said it and I don't think I will be able to look anyone in the eye at the next meeting.

Oh Beth - this is a brilliant idea for a thread! And I can't believe your first confessional - even I have Mickey ears!!! :D

Okay - I'm still at work, so you'll have to wait until I get home tonight for my response (and you might have to wait a little longer as I'll have to watch the football first) - but I have a few secrets up my sleeve :D

I do not own a pair of Mickey ears!!! .

Oh Beth  ....I need to know why?

LOL... I personally could keep this thread going for at least 6 months...

ok...
confession #1: I have never ridden Splash Mountain and do not plan to do so without serious coercion. I am terrified of the whole 'drop into a watery death' idea.

confession #2: I can only take so much of Pooh Bear. I will not buy things with Pooh Bear on them.

Confession #3: I do not care for behind the scenes/backstage tours ... I don't particularly care how the magic happens, just that it does.

is that enough shame for one day?

Great idea for a thread!

My confession: I have never had a Dole Whip. Have heard a lot about them and would like to try one, but never seem to get around to it. I'm sure there are worse confessions I can make (although not as scandalous as not owning a pair of mouse ears!  ) but can't think of any right now...

I just have never bought any and I don't know why... I'm so ashamed

You really need to come on a club trip. But I have to say we were not successful in getting Greg on Space Mountain - the big girl's blouse!
confession #2: I can only take so much of Pooh Bear. I will not buy things with Pooh Bear on them.
I'd be more embarrassed for you if you did by pooh stuff

Well Mel this one made me gasp! You can't blame it on morning sickness each time you went to a park surely!

Haha, nup, only had morning sickness on the past two trips to Tokyo - and I don't even know if they have Dole Whips there. On our last trip to DL the Tiki place was closed, the time before the line was always too big and before that I didn't know about them.

(I still can't believe Beth hasn't got Mickey Ears...and as for Mel avoiding the Dole Whips and Lisa avoiding Splash Mountain... )

Anyway, my turn :)

Confession Number 1.
I have never seen the animated version of Alice in Wonderland (and up until about six weeks ago, I had never seen Dumbo!)

I have a pro-Disney confession.

On our trip in 2003, I had my photo taken with Cinderella every single day of our 7 day visit  Cindy used to be my favourite movie and before kids I was rather obsessed with character photos. Having said that, we never actively tried to find her, she just kept getting in my way ;)

Confession Number 2 (although I can now be absolved)

Until four weeks ago, I had never eaten a Churro in Disneyland (that photo from my Indy trip with me and Dad eating them is actually my first!)

I had previously had a maple syrup churro in Tokyo Disneyland - but never a traditional one.

I'm horrified! Not at anyone in particular mind, clearly a lot of skeletons in the cupboard.

We have quite a few silent forum members!

I don't like Pooh.

There is a couple of animated movies I haven't seen.

Alright, alright, I know these are soft so here's a biggie ...

I get a lump in the throat during Fantasmic and fireworks and many other special things, but these 2 especially. Don't quite tear up, but it comes close.
