Possible downtime

Just wanted to warn everyone that there may be some downtime on the site.
The server that the site is hosted on is being moved to a new data centre and there may be some downtime between 9 PM, March 27th and 5 AM March 28th (MDT) Mountain Daylight Time, which is UTC -6. I think that puts it about 1pm Qld time Sunday afternoon, the 27th. There may be a couple of hours when the site is unreachable.
They promise that it will be an improvement over the old servers.

Just to let you know that there may be a couple of hours downtown in the next day or two as the servers the site is hosted on are upgraded.

Morning all,
Just to let you know that there needs to be a major upgrade to the software that the site runs on. I will be attempting to do this over the next 24 hours or so as i can fit it in to my schedule. During this time the site may look a little strange as everything needs to be upgraded.
It should not affect this forum as it is a different bit of software.

Yep, it looks different alright, and seemed to have worked. Yep it appears we had a bump in the forum for a while, but it's all back and good now. Well done Greg!

LOL - I had to track down Greg as he was unaware of the forum problems. Do you know how hard it is to find someone in Laos while operating a wifi from a hotel in Washington? I didn't have Greg's email address on my laptop and the 'contact us' button is not yet active on the new website. I eventually found him via Google+ and we've been live chatting with each other tonight - don't you just love the modern connected world!

I know! I know! I was thinking just that. From the big hack while in Japan in 2008 to other minor system issues when I've been away - it is fate that it goes down when I'm away!
