My Mega Disney/Theme Park Trip

Postby BrizMarc » Wed Feb 23, 2011 5:14 pm

Hiya guys, I havent posted here alot for a while but I just wanted to let you know about my upcoming Disney/Theme Park trip. I will be spending around 3 months in the USA/Canada taking in a huge holiday and theme park trip and I am really excited. I have everything booked and am just counting down the weeks now. I am currently working in Canada on a contract that finishes in about 6 weeks and have decided to tag this trip on to the end of it all while I am over here. (to be honest I took the job as an excuse to do this trip  )

Disney Park wise I am staying as follows,

Disneyland at Tropicana Inn May 9th - 19th
Walt Disney World at Pop Century May 22nd- June 8th
Hong Kong Disneyland at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel July 27th - July 30th (at the end of my trip on the way home)

Other parks I will be getting to are,

Universal Hollywood
Knotts Berry Farm
Six Flags Magin Mountain
Universal Orlando/IOA
Canadas Wonderland

I also have stops in San Francisco, (where I cant wait to see the Walt Disney Museam) Santa Monica, Hollywood, Las Vegas, Washington DC, NYC, Boston, Toronto, Montreal, Qubec City and Vancouver. I am sooo pumped for this trip and have so many things I cant wait to see and do.

For anybody who has been to these cities, do you have any MUST DO things that I should know about being that i am a Disney/theme park junkie or just some great ideas at all? Its my first time to the states. I am a big baseball fan also and really want to get to some games too.

I hope its ok I posed it here as I didnt know where else to put it. I will have some great trip reports to come. I might even set up a travel blog if anyone wants to follow it. Ill let you know the details.

Anyways, talk soon guys, Marc -/

Marc, that will be one awesome trip. Be prepared for some heat and humidity in Orlando, but then you live in Brissy, so you're used to that! :D Make sure you pre-book your tour of the Disney Family Museum as you cannot walk up. Also they say it should take around 2 hours, and if it's busy they may make you stick to that, but if it's quiet, take your time, you will struggle to cover everything in 4 hours. Try and book a time close to opening.

In DC you must see the Halocaust Museum and the Air and Space Museum.

And you must bring us all gifts

From the Holocaust museum? Surely they don't sell souvenirs! I really can't image a snow globe or a mug!

They do sell souvineers!

It was the saddest, most emotional well developed museum I have ever been to - but the main part is restriicted to either over 16's or over 18's. Peter and I went in seperately because someone had to mind the kids and a number of times I had to find a quiet corner to cry.

We were lucky as Anne Franks diary was also on display when we were there
