Reluctantly, I have to agree with Greg... I think Disney Stores would go better on the Gold Coast or perhaps even on the Sunshine Coast ( considering 9/10ths of Brisbane holiday here almost every weekend ) One of the huge centres either here or there ... perhaps Morayfield or the Sunshine Plaza up here or Pacific Fair on the GC. I really think they'd both attract more devotees than Brisbane, cos they are the places not only locals frequent, but a massive amount of tourists visit each year.
I've lived up here 3 1/2 years and I've quite seriously only been to Brisbane three times... for DOI and scrapping conventions.

Hello everyone!

We are coming up on July 17 - which means it almost time to say Happy 55th Birthday to Disneyland, but more importantly ( ) the 17th is the next Down Under Disneyana meeting!

Remember that this meeting will be in two parts beginning at 5:00pm. We'll have some very early (and never previously broadcast) film of Disneyland in the very early years, along with a Disneyland through the years trivia session. We also want people to recall their favourite Disneyland moments.

Around 6:15 we'll break for a pizza dinner, then recommence at 7:15pm for the main meeting.

The main meeting will feature many of our usual sections: trivia, movie trailers, Disney news etc. We'll also have some special segments themed around Disneyland and the future, and hear from people who have recently returned from trips.

Remember to bring your Disneyland ears! We'll be taking an ear photo and sending it to Disneyland with a Happy Birthday message.

Finally, we'll also have updates on the Hong Kong Disneyland Club Trip, plus a supper and chat time.

It is going to be a packed, fun night! Looking forward to seeing as many members and guests that can make it!

Hi all, Just a extra note to Keiths last post about next weeks meeting. If your planning on coming along and bringing your Disneyland Mickey Mouse Ears could you please either phone or email Wayne and let him know how many pairs and what types of ears you'll be bringing. We are trying to get a idea of how many display props are going to be needing for the official birthday photograph. Prizes to be given on the night for different catagories, these may be eg: oldest, cutest, silliest, most unusual, rarest style of ears.

No, handsome as our heads may be, they won't be the display props. Barry has come up with a brilliant idea for the officila photo, only one of each style/design/type will be formally displayed (that's why we are asking you to reply with what style/design/type of ears you will be bringing)
It will be interesting to see what everyone has hidden in their wardrobe.

I don't want to officially reply because I might not be able to make it - depending on morning sickness levels - but the only ears I have these days are my 50th anniversary ones anyway, and I suspect that nearly everybody in the club has a pair anyway!

so sorry i wont be there tonight....My sister in law gave us free tickets to disney on ice in a corporate box so we couldnt say no...I never want to sit with the normal crowd again...it was amazing, the view, the food, the drinks, and the room and it was all FREE!!!!

Wow where did the time go Jess?

I had a great night last night - straight after Disney on Ice.

Wayne had a great fan DVD of DL 1955-56 that was made up from 50 families home movies - I think we are all going to buy a copy from the Laughing Place now (maybe a bulk order and save on postage)

Wayne collected how many days all up we have spent in DL and it added up to about 2 years.

We had our ears display (will post photos shortly).

Some people shared there favourite experiences in DL - Wayne wins - clearly you need to hang around him in the parks while he schmoozes. He has had more than his fair sprinkle of pixie dust!

Barry discussed the club trip to HKDL - Keith will update the website with any new information.
