Joining Angus and school band tour to the US 5th December 2013, Disneyland 16, 17th (Angus turns 18 on the 17th and will be performing in DL that day - hope the club trip can extend a few days to cover this). Deposits paid!

Hope to return to DLR for a few days after the band tour then maybe NY to meet Jacob for Christmas while he is studying in Spain.

I've finally started to get around to updating our basic Park Fact Sheets that we have online.

The old ones were really old! Most were written in 2006 after the World Tour and Tokyo was written in 2008.

The delay was partially because I lost the original Word versions when my hard drive crashed (so I've had to redo them from scratch grrrr), and partially because I didn't have the time to keep them up to date!

Anyway, I've updated both Anaheim and Hong Kong today, and hopefully I'll get the others done over the Christmas period.

Booked my next visa run yesterday, or at least the airfares.

2 nights in Bangkok (need to do a couple of things, like see The Hobbit on an Imax screen), then 3 nights in Hong Kong before another couple of nights in Bangkok on the way home.

I wanted to go to Seoul and cross it off the list but it's incredibly expensive from here. Burma was the other place on the list but my workmate here is going a few weeks before me and is having hassles getting a visa so I'm going to wait until she gets back and tells me what it's like.

I ended up choosing to go back to Hong Kong and my 4th visit to HKDL because 1. It's cheap, 2. It's Disneyland 3. HK is one of my favourite cities 4. It's Disneyland 5. There are new parts of HKDL since I was last there with the Club trip.

Couple of questions:

Anyone been since the new parts opened?

Is it still doable (given I don't go on Space Mountain) in one day or do I need 2?

Quite a few members have been back since they've opened new areas. I'm sure Keith can fill you in

Well, as you don't go on coasters, you can probably still do it in 1.

The new areas have thrill rides for the most part. Toy Story has the RC Racer ride, and Grizzly Gulch has the roller coaster. You can take a ride on Slinky-dog Greg Still, there are plenty of photo opportunities if you want to document the new areas. The rest of the park remains basically the same as the last time you were there.

Some Qantas Specials released today 12 Jan for flights from Sydney:

Los Angeles - $1,199 return - travel dates: 5 Feb to 26 Mar; 22 Apr to 12 Jun

Hong Kong - $888 return - travel dates: 1 Feb to 12 Feb; 25 Feb to 26 Mar; and 29 Apr to 28 Jun

These prices expire Wednesday 17 Jan - so you have to be quick!

Oh, Keith reminded me... The reason I got the flight to Hong Kong so cheap is that I'm flying on Kenya airways!! $217 return.

Anyone have any experience flying with them?
