Next Meeting June 27

Don't forget everyone - the next meeting of Down Under Disneyana will be on Saturday June 27 at 2:30pm.

Remember it is our traditional mid-winter daytime meeting and the theme this year is Christmas in July (or close enough to July!). Bring along your Disney Christmas stuff - you know, all that stuff you've collected over the years, but haven't been able to show off because we don't have meetings at Christmas time!

I was thinking about coming to that one, but with the GC meet up a couple of weeks before I might not be able to get away on a weekend quite so soon afterwards. I guess if I found an almost free seat on a plane and an almost free bed, I'd revisit it. Would love to see all your Christmas goodies though

I want to make it, but Jared's refusing the bottle so he's constantly with me and I seem to recall that that hall is rather cold? I don't know if it would be wise to take him given his recent bout of brochiolitis. Not to mention he's very distracting! I'll have to see how things pan out in the next month.

Yep - that is why we have the mid-winter one in the day - it is not too bad if the weather is good, but I have to admit we've had some freezing times there!

Not sure I will be at this one either - we have tickets to Steel Magnolias that night and a matinee and evening performance for me and both kids the next day.

Hope you all have a great meeting today... Unfortunately, as I expected, my boss pulled the plug on any leave for this week and in particular this weekend because we are stock taking, so while you are all dreaming of a white christmas, I will be out the back in the store room counting bays and double counting racks and wishing I was somewhere else.

There is an upside though, in a bid to cheer me up my friends decided a couple of days ago that tonight was a good night for a POTC-a-thon to contine the movie marathon thing that we started with the Blue Lagoon. Its dress up too so that will be fun... I'm in charge of the cocktails... imagine that...

Now all I have to do is remember my pirate-speak and I'm set... Savvy?

Have a great time, I'll be thinking of you while I'm counting ( and hopefully not having too many bouts of stocktake-induced dislexia and swapping those digits around)

Hi Lisa - sorry you weren't able to make it down to Sydney. It is going to be a great afternoon!

I know a few people who have lots of Christmas stuff that they are going to ring - I'm sure you would have loved to have seen it!

I'll post a quick report on the website tomorrow of the shenanigans we get up to

Oops - a bit late with a quick report but here goes.

We had a great time

As always, we delighted in seeing new stuff, so Wayne gave a talk on his Backstage Magic tour last month, along with showing us a lot of pictures from the Disney studios, Henson Studios, meeting Tony Baxter, visiting Imagineering, and all sorts of other stuff!

We had trivia - including a Christmas disney trivia hosted by Barry and Julie.

Plus, up coming trailers, Disney news (be sure to watch out this coming Tuesday for some big announcements about Hong Kong Disneyland expansion), displays of Christmas Disney items, Christmas parade videos, and a whole lot more.

Plus lots of catching up with all our friends.

Don't miss the next meeting - it is going to be theme park themed - concentrating on Hong Kong, Tokyo and Anaheim - so if you know of any friends heading over to any of those parks soon, make sure you invite them along to learn all the hints and tricks of visiting those particular parks.

Sounds like another good one, thanks for the update Keith. Saturday afternoons don't belong to us during winter so this one was out for sure. Shame, I would have loved seeing all the xmas stuff! See you all next time.

It’s a shame we missed this meeting, I would have enjoyed seeing all the Christmas items.

3 out of 4 of us in this house have colds at the moment, so we thought it best not to pass it on.

Jordan was not happy with the rest of us as he loves anything relating to the Christmas theme.

Will be at the Theme Park meeting, as we need hints and tricks of visiting Anaheim.
