Adventureland Theme Night - November 8

Alright folks - I've started this thread to help plan for the next meeting, the "Big One!"

That's right, another year has passed and it is our annual Theme Night once again. We may need some volunteers to assist as we get closer to the date of the meeting, so keep an eye out on this thread.

In the meantime, I've updated our home page with some information about the night, which I've also posted below to help you all begin planning!

"Our next meeting is the big Adventureland Theme Night! Don't forget your fancy dress (optional) and we'd also like members to bring along any Adventureland memorabilia, photos, favourite memories and stories. You can bring your photos on CD or memory stick (USB key) and we will have them running on a laptop in the background!

We are also looking for assistance with an Ice Cream maker or two - to make the famous Adventureland Pineapple Dole Whip! You heard right - we will be serving Dole Whip on the night! We have a few ice cream makers, but a couple more will be greatly appreciated.

Remember the date - Saturday November 8! Start time is 4:00pm and will include dinner, Dole Whip, games, raffles, Dole Whip, trivia, Dole Whip, and a whole lot more!!

Thanks Greg for being the first to admit that. I too have never had a Dole Whip. We always walked past it. I remember the last trip there we made the "we should try that" comment, but still never did.

Its very pineapply. not sure that's a word. The one thing I got hooked on last trip were pineapple henries. They are not on any WDW menu but if you ask for one they will make it up - 1/2 pineapple juice, 1/2 sprite. Really nice when you have been in 40 degree heat all day and you are so over drinking both water and soft drink.

We missed the Dole whip the first time we went to Anaheim. The second, we tried one - then went back 7 days in a row...it is our afternoon tradition now. We share a Dole whip in the Hub in the afternoon, sitting under the shady trees watching people take castle photos.

Add me to the list of 'never trieds' The one time I wanted one, the stand was closed Can't remember if it was DL or WDW, but it was cold weather so that's probably why.

I have an ice-cream maker and will be happy to offer it's services. I'm going to make a big effort to get to the next meeting since it might be my last for a while. Would we freeze the ice-cream maker bowl and just hope it stays cold enough for the trip to the meeting?

Would we freeze the ice-cream maker bowl and just hope it stays cold enough for the trip to the meeting?

We can put them in the freezer when we get there (hope it's big enough) as we won't make it until just before dinner. Mine takes about 20 mins.

Dole whip was one of the best things I ate at Disneyland.... but I really didn't think the Dole Whip floater was anything to rave about...

Ok, well... It pains me to say so but....I'm not real sure if I'm going to be able to make it to this meeting...

I'll keep trying to wangle it but not sure what the outcome will be yet.

Anyone want a little mushu-type person on their couch for the night should I be able to get there?

OK I know this may be disappointing but I think I may have ordered too much Dole Whip mix 10lbs arrived today So I will parcel it up and sell it to interested parties at the Adventureland night! Dole Whip to go! -/

Urgh. Found out today that Craig is working that day. Will still try and wrangle a babysitter or something though as it might be my last meet for a while. Is anybody wearing a costume?
